Replacement gas tanks #32-5922 and #32-5923
are 1967-71 design. They can be used on 1972
models but require the use of 1967-71 gas caps
only. Both tanks are equipped with 2" filler necks.
How to Identify Your Gas tank: Tanks with
Evaporative Emission Control (EEC) have vent
outlet on fuel neck. Tanks without EEC do not.

Tank #32-5922 has a 1/4" NPT bung that can be used for a fuel
return line on trucks that have been modified with a fuel injected
engine. Sending unit #32-4052 is also available to make the
conversion easier with a quick connect fitting on the fuel feed outlet.

Updating your truck to an electric fuel pump? Wiring the pump to
an on-off switch or to a simple ignition switched source isn’t the
best idea. If an accident occurs, your pump would run as long as
the switch is active. With the Fuel Pump Control Module, when the
key is turned, the fuel pump turns on to prime the system in a threesecond cycle, just like modern vehicles. Then the module uses the
tach signal so the pump only runs when engine is running, giving you
quicker start-ups and improved operating safety.
