McGlamry Memorial Scholarship Fund was established at the North Georgia Community Foundation in 2012 to honor the life and career of Georgia State Trooper John E. McGlamry. Trooper McGlamry served the State of Georgia for 25 years and did so with unwavering principles. As such, he left a lasting impact on the communities he served, his peers, and his family. A $1,000 award is available for graduating high school seniors who are the children of active or retired Georgia State Troopers planning to enroll at an accredited U.S. college or university as a full-time student in fall 2015.
