LOGOS
Use of the GSACRD logo
It is essential that the District’s public visual identity is clear and consistent at all times. Having graphic and
textual standards regarding the use of the District logo, name, and other means of identification ensures
that consistency.
There are two variations of the official GSACRD logo: a horizontal version with text on the right hand
side, and a vertical one with text underneath the icon. Both versions come in black-and-white and colour
applications.
The following logos that have been approved for use by the communications department:

It’s important to remain consistent with logo usage. Keep in mind the following guidelines:
• Use a high-resolution version of the logo wherever possible
• If you are printing in black-and-white, use the black-and-white logo
• When resizing, do not distort the logo proportions

Use of the GSACRD logo (continued)
• Do not change the logo font, shape, colours or orientation
• Do not separate any of the elements of the logo
• Ensure the logo is readable in size, colour and contrast at all times
When determining which logo to use, consider the final product. For online materials, always use a colour
application. For printed materials, use the colour logo only if the final product will be produced in colour.
The GSACRD logo is available in a variety of formats on our website under About Us -- Communications.
Department and program logos
The logo for Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools is the exclusive symbol for all departments and programs
within the District.
District departments shall only use the District logo and will not create or use individual or program logos
without prior approval from the communications department.
School logos
Each school has it’s own unique logo which has been approved by the District. Schools shall include the
official District logo as well as their school logo on all publications.
School sub-sections like departments, school councils or other groups are not authorized to create a
separate logo, name-bar or letterhead from that of the school.
Sports team logos
Each school sports team has it’s own unique logo which has been approved by the District. Schools may use
their team logo on any publication which pertains to athletics or promotes school spirit.
Schools will not use their sports team logo in place of the logo which represents their school or the District
to the community.
NAMES
Naming conventions
The legal name of the school district is Greater St. Albert Roman Catholic Separate School District No. 734.
It is often more practical to use a less cumbersome name, therefore the communications department often
uses Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools in lieu of the legal title.
The acronym GSACRD may be used to refer to the District only after ‘Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools’ has
been referenced at least once before. The GSACRD acronym references a previous legal name (Greater St.
Albert Catholic Regional Division) but is still used because of it’s recognition in the community.
TEXT
Fonts
For the text on most promotional materials, the communications department uses Times New Roman, Arial
or Myriad Pro. As a rule of thumb, the font size for a title or header should be a minimum of four points larger
than the body text. For sub-titles, two points larger should suffice.
