TALENT SHOW INFORMATION AND PARTICIPATION CONTRACT
The ASE Talent Show will be held on Friday, April 13, during 7th and 8th period. It will be held
in the school cafeteria.
Those interested in performing an act in the Talent Show must READ THE FOLLOWING
RULES AND PROCEDURES along with their parents, fill out the forms, and have a parent sign
the permission slip. Students may not audition without having this form signed, and it must be
turned in by Friday, March 30.
The AUDITION will be Thursday, April 5, after school in the cafeteria. Auditions will be in a
specified order based on the forms signed and returned by Friday, March 30. Students may stay
to see all of the auditions or may leave when their act is done. It is likely that auditions will
continue until 4:30, so students should arrange for transportation.
The DRESS REHEARSAL for the show will be held Monday, April, 9, and Thursday, April 12
after school in the cafeteria. All students performing in the show MUST attend these rehearsals.
Once again, the rehearsals will continue until 4:30 so students must arrange for transportation.
Students who do not attend Dress Rehearsal will have their act removed from the talent show.
Please make sure that all members of the act are able to attend.
RULES:
1. A variety of acts are encouraged—singing, playing a musical instrument, dancing, performing
in a skit, doing magic tricks, performing stand-up comedy, juggling, or any other unique talent!
2. All performers must be ASE students.
3. All acts must be NO LONGER THAN 2 MINUTES.
4. Students may only perform in ONE ACT. More than one act is not permitted.
5. ALL LYRICS MUST BE APPROPRIATE IN EVERY WAY. This includes any song being
sung, performed by an instrumentalist, or danced to. A “clean” version of a song with explicit
lyrics is not acceptable—the original song must be appropriate in every way!
6. All acts must be fully prepared for the audition—words memorized, choreography completed,
etc. If an act is not prepared for the audition it will be eliminated. Any acts using recorded music
must have two CDs. Please make sure the CD can be played on any CD player. These need
to be provided before the audition (preferably when forms are turned in)
8. After the audition, students must practice on Friday April 6th after school from 3:30 – 4:30.
Each act will be assigned an advisor to help refine the act and ensure preparedness for the
show. All costumes/outfits will be decided between the performers and the faculty advisors.
PROCEDURES:
1. One person in the act must fill out the “Act Information Form.”
2. Every person in the act must fill out the “Contract and Permission Form.”
3. Lyrics must be printed and attached to the “Act Information Form.” This includes any song
being used in the performance.
4. The “Act Information Form,” the “Contract and Permission Form” for every person in the act,
and the original lyrics must be STAPLED TOGETHER IN A PACKET AND TURNED IN BY
FRIDAY, MARCH 30. Packets can be turned in to Mrs. Sandoval in room 112 after school any
day up until March 30th (March 30th is the last day to turn in packets NO LATE PACKETS
WILL BE ACCEPTED). Packets must be handed to one of these teachers personally so they
can check for packet completion.
NO STUDENT MAY AUDITION WITHOUT A SIGNED CONTRACT!!!

rules and procedures and agree to adhere to them or my act will be eliminated.
