Annual Parish Council Meeting
MINUTES
1. Chairman’s Welcome The Chairman welcomed all to the meeting and stood down as
Chairman
2. Election of Chairman: Councillor H Booth proposed Councillor L Padmore to be Chairman;
seconded by Councillor K Strefford and agreed by all present
3. Declaration of Acceptance office: The Chairman signed the Declaration of Acceptance of
Office in front of the Council.
4. Election of the Vice-Chairman; Councillor G Lewis proposed Councillor H Booth by ViceChairman; seconded by Councillor K Strefford and agreed by all members.
5. Declaration of Acceptance of Office: The Vice-Chairman signed the Declaration of
Acceptance of Office in front of the Council
6. Appointment of the LJC representative: It was agreed that this would be Councillor L
Padmore
7. Appointment of the Battlefield Energy representative It was agreed that this would be
Councillor G Lewis & Councillor L Padmore.
8. Declarations of Pecuniary Interest: None at this point

10. Minutes
To confirm minutes of Council meeting held on Monday 13th April 2015 (copies attached).
It was agreed that these were a true and accurate record of the meeting; proposed by
Councillor L Padmore; seconded by Councillor G Lewis and agreed by all members.
11. Matters Arising: The clerk said that she was now putting the minutes on the website and
marking them draft. As the parish council meets every month it was agreed that they would be
put on the website once they were agreed by Council. July minutes would be placed on the
website marked draft until they were agreed at the September meeting.
12. Police Report: Received by e-mail and circulated to members
13. Shropshire Councillors Report: There was no report
14. Local Joint Committee: LJC: Loton and Tern LJC. Councillor L Padmore to report
15. Neighbourhood Watch: Councillor Streford is putting the relevant updates on the Notice
Boards and the website.

16. Parish Plan: See Annual Parish Meeting
17. Wrekin Housing Church Road: Steve Swan to report. See Annual Parish Meeting
18. Haughmond Quarry: It was agreed that the representatives would be Councillor G Lewis
and Councillor A Cox
19. Street Lighting; i) Council to consider replacing street light on Main Road Uffington; costs
to be available prior to the meeting. See below, this is the same light.
ii) Council to consider response to letter from E-on with regard to 1 street
light needing to change as mercury vapour lighting is to be phased out by the
end of this year. ; Costs to be available prior to the meeting.
After discussion it was agreed to defer this to a later meeting. The parish
Council is awaiting funds from Elgin Energy to fund this replacement.
20. Highways; i) Councillors to report on Highways matters
Councillor G Lewis reported that the VAS towards Haughmond was still not working.
21. Finances
 Council to agree payment of accounts as presented by the clerk; list to be circulated
prior to the meeting. It was agreed to pay the accounts as presented by the clerk
proposed by Councillor G Lewis; seconded by Councillor A Cox and agreed by all
members
 Council to accept bank reconciliation as presented by the clerk. It was agreed to
accept the Bank Reconciliation as presented by the clerk; proposed by Councillor A
Cox; seconded by Councillor G Lewis and agreed by all members.

23. Correspondence
This was noted: The clerk was asked to complete the questionnaire on line for the planning
process proposals.
The clerk to see if it would be possible to arrange a meeting for several parishes to have a
briefing from Local Works on the Sustainable Communities Act.
The clerk read out an e-mail received from company who have bought the Solar Farm now
.They are wanting details of any community projects before they will look at releasing any
funds to the Parish Council This is contrary to the original agreement whereby the money was
to be released a month after the Solar Farm was up an working. The clerk to forward this to
Mathew Mead and scan in the original agreement to him for advice.
24. Parish Matters Any other general problems concerning the parish. The clerk was asked to
follow up with Severn Trent to see when we can expect the wok on the sewers to be done.
25. Date and time of Next meeting: it was agreed that the next meeting would be held on
Monday 8th June 2015 at 7.30pm at Uffington Village Hall. The Chairman thanked all for
attending and closed the meeting at 9.30pm
