October: Taking It To The Next Level
Thanks to all who came out for the Cafe's
first event on Friday, November 2! It was a
wonderful night featuring amazing
photography, soup, and great bluegrass by
the Tucker Mountain Band. We estimate that
we served soup to 125. We had so many
wonderful volunteers and even the staff at
Everyday Joe's donated their tips to
the FoCo Cafe at the end of the evening. It
was a heartwarming evening and the City
even flipped the switch on the holiday lights
in Old Town to help us celebrate.

donation box made
And for us, it was a celebration. Just two
from pine beetle kill
days before, we signed the Cafe's nonprofit
- designed, built, and
paperwork. FoCo Cafe now has an EIN
number thanks to the hard work of Joe Davis donated for the Cafe.
of Sherman & Howard. Joe also serves on
the Board of the FoCo Cafe.
That evening was made even more special when honored guests
arrived - men from Harvest Farm who were featured in some of the
photos; Brad and Libby Birky, co-founders of SAME Cafe in Denver;
Les and Marcia DeMoss of DigiGraphics who donated so much time
and effort to the photo imaging for the show; and members of our
homeless community who not only enjoyed the event, but who stayed
to help us clean up at the end of the evening with thanks for including
and welcoming them.
Thanks to all for making our first event such a great success! The
proceeds from our donation box will allow us to submit a site plan for
an Old Town location for the FoCo Cafe.

Presentation at Odell

with Ashley Waddell
regarding corporate
partnerships
We had a wonderful meeting with Odell Brewing Company and the
FoCo Cafe and SAME Cafe have been selected as charities of the
month for December. Odell's Charity of the Month Program allocates
all taster tray proceeds to non-profit organizations serving
environmental, educational, or humanitarian causes.
Please visit their tasting room in December and try their taster tray.
Take your friends and family to Odell's over the holidays and make a
difference for those in our community who may not have an
opportunity to celebrate around a table with good food. It's good beer
for a really good cause.
If you know of other organizations we should connect with, contact us

Wish List
We have storage space and are collecting
equipment! Please help us with the following:
Connect us with equipment including
metro shelving units, a 3-compartment
sink with side drainage boards,
commercial grade refrigerators and
freezers, and large (11qt) soup cookers. We also need ADA
compliant bathroom fixtures - do you know of a source?
Refer us to an organization/group or church where we might
present the idea of the FoCo Cafe. Please make an
introduction for us so we can connect more quickly.
Supply us with ideas for organizations or businesses that
might consider us for a charity of the month spot and let us
know who we might contact.
When we receive equipment donations, we view this as meals for
people in need because we will need to raise fewer dollars to open
our doors. To us, the equipment listed
above represents thousands of meals!
E-mail Jeff or Kathleen at [email protected]
or call (309) 368-1659 for more information or if you are able to help.
Thanks!
