JANUARY 5, 2017
The regular session of Council was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by President of Council Michael
F. Killeen.
Present:

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Councilmember O'Donnell moved, seconded by Councilmember Sullivan, that the reading of the
minutes of the regular session of December 15. 2016. be waived and that they be approved as
received.

SELECTED CORRESPONDENCE:

Communication from Mayor Clough dated January 3,2017, requesting confirmation of the

Communication from Mayor Clough dated January 4,2017, requesting to accept permanent
highway easements from Canterbury Place, LLC and JJMP for the Canterbury and Center Ridge
Roads intersection improvement project. (Ordinance No. 2017-3)
Communication from Director of Purchasing Larry Surber dated December 19, 2016, informing
Council of the vendors that have exceeded $25,000 in encumbrances, excluding the utility
vendors, after processing 2017 super blanket purchase orders.

PETITIONS FROM THE PUBLIC:
Sandra Gray, 24315 Hedgewood Avenue, expressedconcerns about how her neighbors' actions
are adversely affectingher propertyand how she hasn't received the assistance from the city that
she feels is warranted. MayorClough responded to her and will look into the matters and get
back to her.
REPORT OF THE MAYOR:
Mayor Clough read his first report of the year.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES - COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE:
Presidentof Council Killeen reported on the Committee of the Whole meeting held this date at
7:31 p.m. Present were Councilmembers Killeen, Appel, Nunnari, Sullivan, O'Donnell, Brady,
Getsay. Also present were Mayor Clough; Directors Wheeler, Quinn, Kelly, Shah, DeMinico,
Bedell, Surber, Grayem, Gadd, Bielozer, Hughes and Clerk Rosenbaum. Agenda items were
discussed as well as selected correspondence, the standingcommittees for 2017, AT&T power
poles, a traffic light on Hilliard Boulevard, the sidewalk repair program and the status of the deer
culling program. The following committee meetings were scheduled for January 12: Committee
of the Whole, 6 p.m.; Sanitation committee, 6:15 p.m.; Safety, Utilities committee, 6:30 p.m.

p.m.

Council President Killeen announced that the standing committee assignments for 2017 will
remain the same as in 2016.

ORDINANCE NO. 2016-128:

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION
1216.03(g)(10) AND SECTION 1216.04 OF THE ZONING
CODE AS TO PERMITTED USES AND LOT AREA

Councilmember Getsay moved, seconded by Councilmember Sullivan, that the rule requiring the
ordinance to be read in full on three separate dates be suspended, and that the same be placed on
third reading.
