Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome back to you all. We hope you had an enjoyable holiday and are all ready for another
exciting term, especially with our wonderful new Pre-5 unit.
Pre-5s
This week we have been settling back into school after our Easter
holidays. We have had great fun exploring our new unit.
We enjoyed building castles and train tracks with our new wooden
blocks, using our fabrics to make our own dressing up clothes and
role play in our new home corner.
Next week we are going to
test out our kitchen and
make some homemade pizza.
It has been wonderful to hear the
increased level of conversation and
engagement from the children this week.
Their new learning environment has clearly stimulated their
interest and curiosity.
Big Class
In the Big Class we have been very busy this week planning and designing how to create the most
effective storage area for all of the P.E. equipment. We have also been researching the incredible
life of Jacques Cousteau. He co-invented the aqua lung amongst other things.

Wee Class
We have had lots of lovely discussions about the Easter holidays in the Wee Class this week, it
sounds like we all had a fantastic, chocolate filled holiday.
We have been working really hard in French – this week we made a shop, this is helping us to say
hello, I would like, a variety of classroom objects, thank you and please. We also enjoyed using the
talking pen to find out how we pronounce body parts and we wrote about classroom objects that we
have.
Fireman Aidan – Conquering his Dragon
Our first fire alarm test this term was started by
Aidan who was dressed for the job. We will be having a
test every Tuesday at 9:30am to make sure our new
fire alarm system is working properly.
Fire Station Open Evening
There is an Open Evening next Tuesday at the Fire
Station to which everyone is invited.
Dress up Blue for Autism and
April is Autism Awareness Month and we are having a non-uniform day to raise
awareness and funds for Blue Sky Autism. The date will be next Friday 28th
April when we are all encouraged to wear something blue and donate £1.00 to
this Scottish Charity.
Family Fun Day – Saturday 22nd April
Saturday at 2pm in the Arboretum for the Treasure Hunt and the Village Hall at 3pm for the Tea
Party. Contact Joni for further details 07765016543.
We wish you and your family a wonderful weekend.
