RIDGEFIELD LITTLE LEAGUE 2016 HIT-A-THON

RIDGEFIELD LITTLE LEAGUE
2016 HIT-A-THON
Ridgefield Little League is excited to host the 2nd annual Hit-a-thon fundraiser on Opening Day - March 19, 2016.
Proceeds will go towards our indoor batting facility project in conjunction with Ridgefield School District, field
maintenance, keeping registration fees low, equipment and uniforms.
Here’s how it works:
 Each player will receive a Hit-a-thon envelope from their coach.

Players will ask their family and friends to pledge either a flat amount (ex. $10 or $20) or on a per foot basis. We
will take the players longest hit out of 3 hits and multiply it by the amount of the pledge. (ft. x pledge =
donation) Example of a .20 cent/foot pledge (100 feet) x (20 cents) = $20.00 donation to the program. Younger
little leaguers will usually hit from 50-100 ft. Older Little leaguers could hit from 100 ft. to 200 ft. All homeruns
on Baseball or Softball field will be counted as 215 ft.

Use the following chart as guide to estimate the amount pledged:


Make a check mark in the “additional $5 donation if HR” if your sponsor agrees to pay you an additional $5 if
you hit a homerun.

NEW this year! You will also have the ability to collect donations online. Each player will have their own website
where donations can be made in their name. You will receive an email with information about your page or you
can go to http://99pledges.com/fund/rllhitathon. This is a great way for out of town friends and family to
support you.

Each team will be assigned a hit-a-thon time on the day of Opening Ceremonies. Every player will get 3 hits. The
longest hit out of the 3 will be recorded and used to determine the amount of per foot donations. T-ball and
Pee Wee players can choose to hit from a tee or be pitched to. All others will be pitched to by a coach.

Players will then have a week to collect their donations and turn them into their coach or team coordinator. All
donations need to be collected and turned in by March 28, 2016. Checks can be made payable to RLL or
Ridgefield Little League.

The goal for this fundraiser is $60 per player. Our goal for the league is to raise $15,000.

Any single donation by a person or business of $100 or more will be recognized on a Donor board at the new
indoor batting facility.

Prizes will be awarded for the following:
a. Longest Hitter in each division: $10 gift card and an Umpire Meal at the concession stand. Ties will be
determined by next best hit.
b. Teams who collect most money in Tball/Pee Wee division, Softball Divisions and Baseball Divisions:
