Aim: To introduce the visual arts -- how we talk about art, what are
some famous works of art.
Objectives: Terms: sculpture, sculptor, three dimensional, Statue of

Material: A sculpture is a work of art usually made of clay, wood,
metal, stone or plastic. A sculpture is not flat, like a drawing or a
painting; it is three dimensional, which means it has length, depth and
width. An artist who creates a sculpture is called a sculptor.

City. It is so large, you can go inside of it and even climb up to its head.

The Statue of Liberty is a huge sculpture that is located on Liberty
Island in New York Harbor. This monument was a gift to the USA from
the people of France. The copper statue was built in France in 1884. It
was brought to the USA in 350 pieces on a French ship. The statue was
put together in the USA and was completed in 1886. There are 354
steps inside the statue and its pedestal. Lady Liberty holds a torch in
her right hand and a tablet in her left hand that reads "July 4, 1776".
