Melanie Shelton – CCMS Teacher of the Year My name is Melanie Shelton. I am married to Jason Shelton and we are blessed to have four children: Mac, Presley, Payton, & Myles. I graduated from Chester County High School in 1995. I earned a BS from Freed-­‐Hardeman University in 2007 and a Masters in Education in 2011. I am currently in my 8th year of teaching, all of which have been fourth grade. I taught at Medina Middle School from 2007-­‐2009 and have been teaching at CCMS from fall 2009 to present. Being a teacher is a great blessing in so many ways. I love learning about students and having the opportunity to help them achieve success. I learn just as much from my students as they do from me. Being around my students makes me happy. Former President, Herbert Hoover, stated, “Children are our most valuable resource.” I love this statement because it is so true. I am proud to be a teacher.
