Homemade Dog Treats
Pet-Friendly Woof Loaf
Ingredients:






1 pound lean ground turkey
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1/2 cup peas
1/2 cup oats
2 eggs
3 hard-boiled eggs
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º F. In a bowl, mix together the lean turkey, chopped carrots and peas. Both
are healthy for cats and dogs, giving nutrition for strong eyes and good digestion.
2. Add the oats and eggs. Mix until the loaf mixture comes together. Oats help your pet's coat shine,
and eggs offer extra protein. Lightly grease a loaf pan with olive oil and then add half the mixture to
the pan.
3. Place the three hard-boiled eggs along the center of the loaf and then cover with the other half of
the ground turkey mixture. Pop in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.
4. Cut a half-inch slice from the cooled loaf and offer it to your pet. He'll be woofing for seconds! If
feeding a slice to your feline, it's a good idea to chop it up before adding it to her feeding dish.

Loss of hearing
Around 1796, by the age of 26, Beethoven
began to lose his hearing. He suffered from
a severe form of tinnitus, a "ringing" in his
ears that made it hard for him to hear
music. The cause of his hearing loss is
unknown. Some have concluded the cause
could have been from when he would
immerse his head into cold water to stay
awake. The explanation from his autopsy
was that he had a “distended inner ear,”
which developed lesions over time.
From April to October 1802 he wrote his
Heiligenstadt Testament, a letter to his
brothers which records his thoughts of
suicide due to his growing deafness. He
came to terms that he had to continue living
through his art. Over time, his hearing loss
became profound: at the end of the
premiere of his Ninth Symphony in 1824, he
had to be turned around to see the
applause of the audience. His hearing loss
did not prevent him from composing music,
but made play concerts increasingly
difficult.
After a failed attempt in 1811 to perform on
his own Piano Concerto No. 5, he never
performed in public again until he conducted the Ninth Symphony in 1824.
Why does my dog… Eat his food away from his bowl?
Possible reasons:
It’s their natural instinct to outrank animals in the wild. They drag their kill away so they do not need to
fight for their food. Another reason can be that if you use a metal bowl and the food or his collar clanks
on it, it may be frightening or annoying. So they may take the food away as to not trigger the sound.
