Confessions: Saturdays: 3:30 to 4:00pm June 11, 2017 • The Most Holy Trinity The Most Holy Trinity Sunday 209 Page Two NOTES FROM THE PASTOR Dear Parishioners Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. We do not understand the Triune God, but we profess our belief in Three Persons in One God. As we go through life our image of God changes. When we are young we might for a time think of God as an authority figure to be feared. We may see God as the gentle Jesus loving us, or as an infant in the crib. Our Old Testament Scriptures remind us that God is like a mother who never, ever forgets her child. One thing we can all agree on is that God is mysterious. God is all of the above images and yet unable to be completely imagined or named. As we go through life, we may at times grow angry with God when tragedy strikes. If things go terribly wrong in our lives it becomes hard for us to reconcile our image of God as a loving and caring friend. God has never promised us that life would be easy, but has always promised that He is with us along the way. As we contemplate the many mysteries of our faith, we know well that our own human hearts are mysterious. Let us hand over to our God our wills. Let us approach Him in faith and ask for a continued renewal of trust in His divine plan for our lives. God bless you, Fr. Murphy June 11, 2017 A Summer Blessing May you walk with God this summer In whatever you do, wherever you go. Walking with God means walking with honesty and with courage. Walking with love and respect and concern for the feelings of others. May you talk to God this summer and every day in every situation. Talking with God means praying words of praise for the beauty of creation, saying prayers of thanks for friends and good times, asking God’s help in all your decisions, expressing sorrow when you have failed. May you talk with God every day. AMEN Baptisms We welcome those children who were baptized into our faith community John Stephen Baylor Joseph Francis Follo, Jr. Abigail Grace Grandieri Clare Bridget Grandieri Charlotte Ann Murphy $$$ FINANCIAL FACTS $$$ We thank those parishioners who, recognizing God’s gifts to them, make their response in our weekly collection. Your continued support is vital, necessary, and deeply appreciated. Did You Know St. Dorothy Parish strongly encourages parishioners to make Weekly Offering utilizing your “Bill Pay” feature. The advantage to the parish is that “Bill Pay” provides a steadier and predictable cash flow. The advantage to parishioners is the convenience of avoiding last minute check preparation, and the ability to direct Bill payments to occur soon after the receipt of your paycheck (rather than always making offerings on a Sunday), for example: once a month, bi-weekly, weekly, etc. Join the growing number of parishioners who are taking advantage of the benefits of using this popular feature.
