ThisisapowerfulphrasethatJamesutteredasheinstructedthepeopleofhisday.Sometimesweforgetthe
MajestyandPowerofGodandwefailtodreambigandaskforgreatthings.WhileIhatetoseethelastdays
ofsummergo,Igetsoexcitedaboutthefirstdayofschool,especiallywhenallofthestaffcomesback.Our
backtoschoolin‐servicemeetingshavebeenupliftingandencouragingthisyearaswehaveagreatgroupof
committedandcaringteachers.OneofthethingsIlikemostaretheworshipandlargegrouptimesweshare
beforethestudentscomeback.ItisduringthosegatheringsthatIamremindedofthegreatgroupofpeople
aroundmeandtheawesomeresponsibilityofourministryofChristianEducation.
IcannotexpresshowencouragingourPrayerWalklastWednesdaywastome.Itwasagreatfeelingtoseeso
manystaffmembersstayforthemeetingaftertheyhadworkedattheschoolstartingearlyinthemorning.I
wasalsoencouragedbytheshowingwehadfromourparentswhorepresentedeveryareaofourschool.I
feellikethereisn’tanythingwecouldnotaccomplishwiththisgreatgrouppullingfortheschool.
IappreciatehowPastorMichael,SeniorPastoratParkviewBaptistChurch,gaveawholeWednesdaynight
servicetobringthechurchandschooltogether.Hisleadershipinreachingouttotheschoolandembracing
thisministrycomesoutofagenuineloveforpeopleandtheKingdomofGod.Anewschoolyearcanbe
daunting,butcallingonGod’sprovisionandprotection,givesalltheencouragementneededtodiveinwith
totalabandon.
Iappreciateallofthepastorsfromotherchurchesthatcametotheprayermeeting.Parkviewrepresents95
localchurchesinitsstudentpopulation.Wecovettheprayersandpartnershipsthatcomefromour
communitychurches.Althoughotherpastorswereinthecrowd,IamespeciallyappreciativetoPastorDavid
GozaofJeffersonBaptist,PastorJeffGinnofIstroumaBaptist,RichMayfieldofParkview,andFrankFriedman
ofGraceLifeFellowship.Eachoftheseareapastorstooktimeawayfromtheirchurchestojoinourprayer
serviceforourschoolyear.Ican’texpresstheencouragementandstrengthitgavemetohavethesemen
comeandrepresentdifferentprayerneeds.Itrulyfeltwecouldtakeontheforcesofevilandaccomplish
anythingwiththismuchsupport.ItwasatrueministryteamandIamsogladtobeapartofit.
Aftertheprayermeeting,everyonesplitupintogroupsandcoveredtheentirecampuswithprayer.Every
buildingandathleticfieldreceivedaprayercoveringandGodwascalledupontoblesseachstudent,staff
memberandparent.Ican’tthinkofabetterwaytostartayear.
Weareexpectinggreatthingsthisyear.WeareaskingGodforgreatthings.IencourageallofyoutobeBOLD
inaskingGodforgreatthings.Wearelookingforwardtoanincredible15‐16schoolyear.
