the Leslie family for over 300 years.

Mystery of the
Christmas Star
Digital Theatre Show
1 – 22 December 2016,
Armagh Planetarium, Armagh.

Join Armagh Planetarium this
Christmas as they journey back
more than 2000 years to Bethlehem,
and seek to discover an explanation
for the star the Wise Men followed
to find the baby Jesus in “Mystery of
the Christmas Star”. This modern
retelling of the Christmas story in
their Digital Theatre will charm and
captivate audiences of all ages.
A Christmas Tapestry

Two hundred performers, spanning
three generations from the
Castleblayney area are coming
together to create a magical
Christmas show. This night of
singing and dancing will be
provided by members of Fusion.
Our Lady’s Secondary School
Choir and the Muckno Singers and
will definitely warm hearts these
December evenings as we prepare
for Christmas.

This exhibition charts the history
of Irish Dance from the late 1800s
to present day, through costume,
embroidery, images and film. The
exhibition includes reference to the
1904 Feis in the Glens of Antrim, a
landmark event in Ulster’s recent
cultural history, with competition in
music, drama, craft work and dance.
Embroidered costumes, medals
and certificates will tell the story
of the development of both dance
schools and governing bodies for
Irish Dance.
Fresh from the success of his awardwinning show, Selfie. Pat Shortt
returns with a brand new show
called ‘How’s Tings?’ In a night of
music and mayhem, Ireland’s most
popular comedian explores all
sorts of ‘tings’. Big ‘tings’ and little
‘tings’, personal ‘tings’ and ‘tings’
that are not so personal. Important
international ‘tings’ and ‘tings’ that
only affect the parish. In Shortt, it’s
a funny show about ‘tings’.
Titanic: Window on
Emigration
4 February 2017, The Argory,
Armagh. 12-5pm. Admission applies.
The elves will take you on a journey
through the Winter Wonderland
where you will be entertained with
the majestical music provided by
members of the local musical society.
Adults can enjoy some mince pies
and mulled wine, the children can
design their own gingerbread men
in the bakery and enjoy some hot
chocolate and biscuits. See the polar
bears, penguins, reindeer and lots
more among the glistening lights of
the specially designed old Christmas
Village. And finally, you will be taken
on a ride on the Polar Express train
and onward to visit Santa in his
Grotto where he will deliver a special
present for all the good boys and

Santa’s Magical
Solstice Christmas

Navan Centre & Fort, Armagh.

This event will take you on an
enchanted Christmas journey to
the magical land of Lapland as
day quickly turns to night and the
wonder of the Solstice takes place.
Santa will be waiting to meet all the
boys and girls, and of course, he has
a gift for all the children!

‘Cantilena’ pour some festive spirit
into our Christmas Celebrations as
they ring in the festive season in their
own inimitable a cappella style. This
evening of well-known traditional
carols and popular Christmas
songs, accompanied by the festive
atmosphere, mulled wine and mince
pies, will definitely put a Christmassy

When you step into the world of
Belleek Pottery you step back in
history. The guided tour takes
approximately 30 minutes and covers
all of the production areas offering
guests the possibility of meeting and
chatting with the craftspeople.

Have you ever wondered what life
was like for the emigrants from
Ireland who boarded Titanic? This
exhibition looks at the stories of
some of the Irish emigrants. Set in
the context of European emigration,
you can explore the stories of the
steerage passengers and why they
left for the New World. Explore a
third class cabin on Titanic, listen
to the voices of those involved and
bring to life the stories of the people
who handed over their tickets in
Queenstown on 11 April 1912 for a
journey to a new life.
Snowdrop Walks
Come and see the wonderful displays
of snowdrops lovingly planted over
the years by the estate staff and
volunteers. Choose to go self-guided
or join one of the guided estate
walks, then relax in the Coffee Shop
for a warm drink or a tasty bite.

Palace Demesne Public Park,
Armagh. It’s free but you do need to
register before your first run. Only

Moments of equestrian
adventure...
you don’ t have to be an experienced rider to visit us at
the Equestrian Centre. Even if you’ve never ridden a horse, we’d love
you to visit and begin your equestrian adventure with us! Although
it’s Winter time, don’t let the cold weather put you off. We have a
world class Indoor Arena with heated seats in our viewing gallery. We
even have a Horse Simulator to teach you or to improve your skills.
Throughout the Winter we’re giving riding lessons in our superb
Indoor Arena with a 45 minute private lesson at €50. When February
arrives, get back in the saddle and enjoy a thrilling late Winter hack
on the Estate. Experience the exhilaration of riding on our 1,000
acres with a one hour hack for €40 or a two hour cross country jump
ride for €85.
During February our Saddle Club runs midweek during the
school holidays from 10am – 12pm and costs €35 per child per day.
