BRAZIL Help build community soccer facilities for boys and girls in the favelas of Brazil while learning the secrets of joga bonito with love.fútbol. Brazil is considered the ‘spiritual home’ of soccer and the game is a religion to most Brazilians. But despite their passion for the game, many children from underserved communities in Brazil don’t even have the opportunity to play the game they love. Brazil has one of the most unequal societies in the world, with millions living in poverty. In the overcrowded favelas of the country’s major cities, children are often forced to play in the street, at risk from traffic and crime, or in trash dumps and other dangerous places. The number one sport for young people in Brazil is soccer. You’ll join the non-profit organization love.fútbol as they empower local Brazilians to plan, build and manage their own community soccer fields and use them as platforms for social education. Profits from the trip will support love.fútbol’s daily operations providing access to safe places to play for underserved Brazilian children. During your 14-day BRAZIL experience you will: • Hone your skills the Brazilian way with training from pro futsal and futvolei players • See how love.fútbol and their local partners transform local communities and help to renovate a community facility • Take the field at a pro-soccer stadium at local powerhouses Sport Club do Recife and Clube Nautico (elite experience only)* • Experience life in a Brazilian favela • Sample incredible local culture like samba and capoeira and relax on some of the world’s most beautiful beaches • Make friendships that will last a lifetime *dependent on schedules Capoiera love.fútbol’s local projects Swimming Pools of Maragogi Arena Pernambuco Stadium Coastline of Recife RIO DE JANEIRO Located on the coast of beautiful Brazil, the skyline of Rio de Janeiro makes a powerful visual impact with Corcovado Mountain and Sugar Loaf looming in the background.
