travel to Brazil – the home of the beautiful game – with one of the bestknown faces in US soccer – former MLS and USMNT star Jimmy Conrad.
An NCAA champion who went on to captain the US Men’s National Team and
played at the FIFA World Cup, Jimmy has since become one of the nation’s bestloved soccer commentators.
Jimmy also has a deep love for the power of the game to change the world. A
former Major League Soccer Humanitarian of the Year, he has also used his
remarkable story to teach others about the value of hard work, resilience and
determination.

Our methodology is comprised of three components; soccer, educational and
cultural activities. Each the third half experience is constructed from a portfolio of
exciting and varied activities reflecting one of these themes, creating a
comprehensive soccer-based educational experience.
SOCCER
Activities that allow you to bond and socialize with your teammates and the local hosts –
including competitive and non-competitive soccer experiences, group meals, parties and more.
EDUCATION
Activities that allow you to learn first-hand about the work carried out by your
host organization and how your trip is helping to change the lives of others.
CULTURE
Activities that allow you to experience what life is like for people in your
host community and to sample the unique flavor of your destination.
BRAZIL
Help build community soccer facilities for boys
and girls in the favelas of Brazil while learning the
secrets of joga bonito with love.fútbol.
Brazil is considered the ‘spiritual home’ of
soccer and the game is a religion to most
Brazilians.
But despite their passion for the game, many
children from underserved communities in
Brazil don’t even have the opportunity to play
the game they love.
Brazil has one of the most unequal societies in
the world, with millions living in poverty. In the
overcrowded favelas of the country’s major
cities, children are often forced to play in the
street, at risk from traffic and crime, or in trash
dumps and other dangerous places.
The number one sport for young people in Brazil is soccer.
You’ll join the non-profit organization love.fútbol as they empower local Brazilians to plan, build and manage their own community soccer fields
and use them as platforms for social education.
Profits from the trip will support love.fútbol’s daily operations providing access to safe places to play for underserved Brazilian children.

We do this by supporting trusted, local, non-profit organizations that use soccer to address social issues like gender inequality, youth
unemployment, crime, gang violence, racism and HIV/Aids. When you take a trip with us, we are helping these organizations grow and reach
more young people. This is how we do it:
1. Each host generates employment opportunities and guaranteed financial income from hosting your trip that is invested directly into their programs
2. Your fundraising challenge also goes direct to the local host to support their work
3. If you choose to also purchase soccer equipment to donate through our partnership with Senda Athletics, or if you want to bring and donate old
equipment of your own, your local host will ensure that it gets a new life where it’s needed most.

make the space more active and increase its long term sustainability. A kiosk, for example, could generate funds and help maintain the field.
Each the third half program will also provide meaningful cultural exchange for both travelers and members of the community.

challenging all our travelers to volunteer to raise $300 for your local host organization
before you travel.

organizations to make this challenge as easy as possible. If you raise more than $300
you can donate this too or use it towards the cost of your trip – it’s up to you.
The fundraising challenge is completely optional, but the more you raise the more
impact you’ll be able to see from your trip.
