Save the Manatees
(savethemanatees.org) / Facebook
Manatees are Florida’s official state marine mammal.
Our mission is to protect endangered manatees and their aquatic habitat for future generations. Our objective is
the recovery and protection of manatees and their aquatic ecosystems throughout the world. In order to
accomplish our objective and goals we concentrate our efforts on reducing the negative impacts to manatees
and their aquatic habitat caused by human activity through:
1. Increasing public awareness and education
2. Sponsoring research, rescue, rehabilitation, and release efforts
3. Advocating for strong protection measures, such as boat speed zones and sanctuaries
4. Taking legal action when appropriate
Jimmy Buffett helped establish the organization back in 1981.
Since TBPH first year in 1995, our members have raised funds over $64,000.
TBPH is a Lifetime Member and have adopted Whiskers as our manatee.

Ask Moma
Answer to Questions That Bother You So
What Is A Parrot Head????
A Parrot head is a fan of Jimmy Buffett's music. They like
the things Jimmy sings about. They like to phlock together
in a tropical life style. When Jimmy Buffet comes to town
to do a concert parking lots look like beaches with tiki
huts and plenty of adult libation. Parrot Heads
Indeed!!!!!!
Where did the name Parrot Head come from??
During a concert, Jimmy Buffett commented on the
tropical type clothes and hats the fans wore and how they
were as loyal as The Dead Heads. It was then that
a member of the Coral Reefer Band, Timothy B. Schmit,
coined the phrase Parrot Heads. He went on to join The
Eagles.
