Ben’s Run, a BEN-a-fit for Children’s National Medical Center, Saturday,
April 2, 2011, in the Stonegate (Silver Spring) neighborhood.
★ Two events: 5K (3.1 mile) and 1 mile run or walk
★ Start and finish at Stonegate Elementary School,
14811 Notley Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20905
★ Both events start at 8:30 a.m., pick up race numbers and
T-shirts starting at 7 a.m.
★ Register in advance for $20 at http://bensrun.weebly.com or make a
donation in any amount!
Register your kid-friendly, leashed dog (1 miler only) for another $5!
★ Adults and middle and high school volunteers are needed to help.

About Ben Goldfogle: Friendly and compassionate, funny and
insightful, Ben made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He grew up in Stonegate, attended the elementary school and enjoyed
scouting and spending time with friends. Ben bravely fought leukemia
under the care of CNMC for six and a half years until he passed away
from an infection in September 2009 when he was almost 12. This race
honors Ben’s amazing spirit, and the many other children
who battle life-threatening illnesses every day.
Proceeds will benefit the Blood and Marrow Transplant Fund to support research to
address blood and marrow transplant improvement, understanding of graph versus
host disease, and undetermined concerns related to transplantation, specifically
unbudgeted needs such as salary support, staff and faculty support and equipment
for program enhancement.
