Citizenship in the Nation – April 5th Power Clinic
Pre-work REQUIRED - Requirement 6. Choose a speech of National importance, read it, research the person who
delivered a bit, choose two of your favorite sentences from the speech. Be prepared to read them aloud to tell the group
why you chose this speech and why you like those two sentences. Must turn in at least your two sentences you read to
group (can be whole speech), who gave speech, and your name on a piece of paper. Pre-approval of speech waived by me
but should be appropriate and of national significance. Requirement 3. Follow the news (any way) for five consecutive
days. Write a short note on something you found interesting from each day. Put the date in front of your note. Use
complete sentences. Like this: 1-6-2014 The news was all about the weather today. With 20 year low temperatures there
were water main breaks all over the city and public workers repaired them all day. They also talked about how you can
prep your car for the cold and how stranded motorists were reported all day. They also reported second day of closed
schools all over Dane Cty – yeah!!!!!
