POSITION SUMMARY
The primary role of the Recruiter is to support Management in recruiting and placing applicants to fill open positions. Perform
recruitment and selection functions through the development of recruiting plans; employing traditional sourcing strategies and
resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting plans that ensure equitable and nondiscriminatory practices meeting Equal
Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action guidelines, OFCCP compliance, and any other applicable state and federal
regulations/laws. Play critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent. Provide direction and support to Recruiter/HR
Assistant; assume lead role in assigning requisitions to Recruiter/HR Assistant. Evaluate quarterly/annual turnover report and
monitor turnover reasons; make recommendations for improved hiring/better longevity in order to help keep turnover within
reasonable market trends. Provide support to Vice President of Human Resources and other HR personnel. Protect information with
highest security practices ensuring that all employee information is secured and kept confidential. Contribute to efficient Credit
Union operations by performing duties accurately and in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the success of the Credit Union by providing superior service according to Sound Credit Union’s Service Promise.
Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position. Provide direction and support to Recruiter/HR
Assistant; assume lead role in assigning requisitions to Recruiter/HR Assistant; collaborate with Recruiter/HR Assistant to ensure
effective and timely recruiting efforts are made. Efficiently and effectively fill open positions.
Develop and implement an effective recruiting program in order to recruit top talent; employ traditional sourcing strategies and
resources as well as develop new, creative recruiting plans. Work with managers on needs assessments. Develop interview questions
tailored to each position. Participate in job fairs. Work to meet the Credit Union’s Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) goals.
Write and place advertisements for recruitment of open positions (internal and external postings); post openings in newspaper
advertisements, with professional organizations and in other position appropriate venues. Utilize the Internet for recruitment. Post
positions to appropriate Internet sources. Work to improve the company website recruiting page to assist in recruiting. Research
new means of using the Internet for recruitment. Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.
Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need. Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidates
recruiting. Build networks to find qualified passive candidates. Create contacts within industry. Attend local professional meetings
and membership development meetings. Maintain regular contact with possible future candidates.
Ensure job descriptions for job postings are accurate and up to date; create new/update job descriptions as needed.
Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements. Conduct pre-screening interviews. Interview qualified
candidates (by phone, skype, and/or in person). Administer testing when appropriate.
Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
Provide hiring manager with selected applicants; coordinate interviews with hiring manager. Assure appropriate members of
Management are kept abreast of all recruiting efforts; update, maintain, and distribute weekly recruiting report.
Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads. Conduct
regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
Perform background investigations; criminal investigation, social security verification, bond check, verification of employment, credit
check, and references for potential employees.
Extend approved offers of employment; prepare and send offer/decline letters as appropriate. Send adverse action notices timely in
compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and required. Initiate new hire paperwork.

Coordinate training and start date of new hires with hiring manager and Training & Development Specialist.
Collaborate with Lead HR Coordinator in completing and ensuring timely reporting of Affirmative Action Plan (AAP). Assume lead role
to ensure compliance/meeting of goals outlined in AAP.
Create reports related to staffing, i.e., quarterly/annual turnover report and monitor turnover reasons; make recommendations for
improved hiring/better longevity in order to help keep turnover within reasonable market trends. Create monthly “post to fill time
report”, quarterly hiring source report, and other reports as requested by management.
Promote Credit Union image and growth in the local community. Aid public relations in establishing a recognizable “employer of
choice” reputation for the company, both internally and externally. Participate in promotional programs/activities/events such as
March of Dimes, Relay for Life, Shred-It event, which may require working after /non-business hours.
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with employee situations relative to the human resources functions.
Ensure efficient and effective department operations by providing back-up support to the Human Resources Department personnel
in performing daily tasks as needed.
Assist with special projects related to field of expertise, as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING/LICENSING
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job. A
typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Two years human resources experience with emphasis on recruiting; two years of financial
institution experience desired. Experience utilizing an applicant tracking system, preferably
Pereless.
Education/Training:
Two years of college level instruction in Business, Human Resource /Management or related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
License or certificate:
Must be bondable.
