Horezu – Twice in UNESCO Heritage
Have you known that?
The name of “Hurezi” comes from a local bird specie, similar to an owl? The bird, “ciuhurez” in Romanian,
lives in the forests around Horezu town.
Horezu pottery is part of UNESCO's intangible heritage since 2012? The pottery is traditionally manufactured
and adorned in beautiful colors, most significant being Red and Horezu Yellow . The paint is made from
substances found in nature and combined in a secret way, known by locals only . The main motive on Horezu
ceramics is the cock, symbol of Horezu region. Stars, flowers, trees of life, leaves, peacock tails , snails,
humans are also found on Horezu vessels.
Horezu Monastery was included in UNESCO's World Heritage as a “masterpiece of Brancovenesc style”.
Established in 1690 by Wallahian Prince Constantin Brancoveanu, it was built as quintessence of Romanian
architectural traditions and spirituality. Horezu monastery was also an important Wallachian school of
painting during 18th century. Wallahia is the historical county of Romania, situated below Carpathians.
Close to Horezu there is an untouched natural park, Buila-Vanturarita. Due to the relief which prevented
humans from hiking, Buila-Vanturarita's natural fauna and flora are very well preserved.
Day 1: Bucharest
Tour overview
Welcome to Romania! After meeting your guide on the Henri
Coanda Bucharest Airport, we invite you to take your seats on the
bus that will head towards your hotel in Bucharest. After a short
break, we are going to visit The Old Center and other attractions
such as: Palace of the Parliament, University of Bucharest,
Revolution Square, Victoriei Square, Village Museum, Victoria
Palace. You will dine at a restaurant in The Old Center. Sleep
well!

Day 2: Bucharest - Siriu
After breakfast, we are going in a breathtaking area – Siriu, Buzau county. Here, you can relax or you can chose
to be involved in activities. You are free to choose either horse riding, a picnic at a short walk distance away or
mountain biking. Lunch and dinner will be served at a local mansion. In the evening, you can watch a movie or
play some board games.

Day 3: Siriu – Brasov - Viscri

about 4 km – 5 km/day, carry your own bags
from the bus to the hotel

Pack your bags because after breakfast we will drive to Viscri,
a village loved and frequently visited by Prince Charles. On
the road, we will visit the Crown City – Brasov (your guide will
tell you why is it called like that). Lunch on the spot. You will
be fascinated by the beauty of Viscri village and you’ll
understand Prince Charles ☺. Accommodation and dinner in a
very special traditional house, decorated with traditional
furniture and full of natural materials (handmade carpets,
linen woven by the women of the village).
Day 4: Viscri - Avrig
At breakfast we would like to hear what you dreamed about
last night. We are certain that the silence of Transylvania
helped you to find your inner peace. Another magnificent

Day 5: Sibiu – Bucharest Airport
After breakfast, let’s discover another beautiful rural area in Transylvania. Have you captured the true feeling
of Romania by now? You haven’t seen all… Archia, here we come! But first, we will meet Orastie, a small town
with great history in leather and fur coats manufacturing. Lunch on the spot. Accommodation and dinner in a 5*
mansion.

Day 6: Archia – Deva – Archia
Accommodations & meals:

After breakfast, we are going to visit the wonderful
citadel in Deva. Amazing, isn’t it? Lunch on the spot. In
the afternoon, we propose to spend your spare time at
the riding center or by the pool of the mansion.

Day 7: Archia – Hunedoara - Horezu
Eat well in the morning; a long and exciting day is in

tell you the Corvin Castle M useum story before visiting
it. Beautiful mountains, forested hills, golden plains
and a very challenging road! Lunch on the spot.
Accommodation in a nobleman’s mansion, called cula
boiereasca, now 4* accommodation, nearby Horezu.

Day 8: Horezu – Ramnicu Valcea – Curtea de Arges – Bran
After breakfast, a scenic route is waiting for us! We are to discover other breathtaking landscapes, ancient
traditions and crafts well preserved by locals… the true feeling of Romania as a whole. Lunch on the spot.
Accommodation and dinner in a splendid mansion in Bran.
Day 9: Bran - Bucharest
In the morning, while taking a short walk in Bran, the thought of your approaching departure will challenge you
to outline the Romanian journey. Unmistakably, you will reach the conclusion that Romania is a very special
country, from every single point of view. After this walk, a lunch will be more than welcome! Of course, in a
traditional sheepfold. After that, we’ll meet again the Capital city – Bucharest. Because it is the last day, we
propose an exquisite dinner in the old center. Accommodation in a 4* hotel.
Day 10: Time to go home!
After breakfast, your bus will guide you to the airport.
