Typical Composition (g/L): Yeast extract 5 g; peptone from casein 10 g; sodium chloride 10 g
Preparation Instructions: Suspend 25 g contents in 1 L of purified water, swirling to dissolve.
Microwave* on high power until bubbles start to appear (usually 2-3 min.) and
continue to microwave for 15-30 s longer. DO NOT let the medium boil over.
Alternatively, the medium can be autoclaved for 15 min at 121°C.
pH: 7.0 + 0.2 at 25°C
*Microwaving is sufficient if an antibiotic will be added to the prepared media.
