Media Release: Contact Board of Elections at 753‐4580 for More Information VOTERS WILL SEE FIVE NEW POLL SITES AND 25 LESS ELECTION DISTRICTS IN COUNTY FOR 2013 ELECTION MAYVILLE—The Chautauqua County Board of Elections this year reduced the total number of county election districts from 124 to 99 in a cost cutting move and has been working to reduce voter confusion for this Tuesday’s General election. New poll sites have also been established at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Lakewood; United Methodist Church, Mayville; Community Center, Celoron; Girl Scout of WNY Building, Ellicott; and Gateway Train Station, Jamestown. Election Commissioners Brian C. Abram and Norman P. Green urge all voters to visit www.votechautauqua.com to look up personal voter information that includes registration status and where to vote. While at the website, voters will also be able to view the exact ballot they will be given on Tuesday at their poll site. Voters are also welcome to contact the Board of Elections with questions at 753‐4580 Monday and Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to Noon. The office will also be open on Election Day from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Twenty of the county’s twenty seven towns vote at a single poll site. Arkwright, Town Hall; Carroll, Frewsburg Fire Station #2 (Blue Building); Charlotte, Sinclairville Fire Station; Chautauqua, Mayville United Methodist Church; Cherry Creek, Town Hall; Clymer, Abbe Reformed Church; French Creek, Peek N Peak; Gerry, Gerry Fire Hall; Ellington, Town Hall; Harmony, Panama Methodist Church; Kiantone, Town Hall Community Bldg; Mina, Community Center; North Harmony, Ashville Fire District; Poland, Kennedy Volunteer Fire Hall; Portland, Town Hall; Ripley, Ripley Central School; Sheridan, Town Community Center; Sherman, First Baptist Church; Villenova, Town Hall; and Westfield, Eason Hall. Of these towns, Chautauqua has a new poll site and Ripley will be voting at the opposite side of the Ripley Central School. The remaining seven towns: • • • Dunkirk Town: voters due to the geographical split in the town vote at the East Town Dunkirk Fire Hall for election district 1 and at the Town Hall for election district 2 voters in the west. Stockton: votes at Stockton Fire Hall for election district 1 (west of the Stockton hill) and at Cassadaga Community Bldg. for election district 2 (east of the Stockton hill). Busti: Lakewood Village voters will find a new poll site at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 35 West Fairmount Ave. Voters outside of the village in Busti who vote in County Legislature District 10 • • • • • • will also vote at Gloria Dei. Busti Center and town voters in Legislature District 17 will vote at Busti Fire Hall. Ellery: poll sites remained unchanged and voters will continue to vote at Bemus Point United Methodist Church and Heritage Green Health Care Center. Ellicott: Celoron Village voters in Ellicott have a new poll site and will now be voting at the Celoron Community Center. West Ellicott voters outside of Celoron will continue to vote Bethel Baptist Church. Fluvanna area voters in Ellicott will be voting at the Fluvanna Community Church. All remaining voters who reside in Ellicott north of Fluvanna, Jamestown and Falconer will now be voting at a new poll site located at Girl Scout of WNY Building 2661 Horton Rd. Falconer voters and Ellicott voters south of the village will continue to vote at the Ellicott Town Administration Bldg. Hanover: Silver Creek Village voters will continue to vote at Mt Carmel Auditorium. Irving area voters in Hanover will continue to vote at the Goodell Bldg. Forestville area voters in Hanover will continue to vote at the Forestville Municipal Bldg. Voters in the center of Hanover will be voting at Silver Creek Central School. Pomfret: Fredonia Village voters will continue to vote at Wheelock School. Voters southeast of the village in the town proper will continue to vote at BOCES Loguidice Center and voters northwest of the village will be continue to cast ballots at Harvest Chapel Free Methodist Church. Dunkirk City: With a very small exception in the Fourth Ward, all voters will continue to vote at the same six poll locations as in the recent past. Only voters north of the railroad tracks with at grade crossings in the Fourth Ward will see a relocation of voting in the City of Dunkirk to the . All poll sites remained the same in the city which include Joseph J Steger Apts., St Hyacinths Church, FSUC Business Technology Incubator, St. John's Church, Dunkirk First Baptist Church, and St. Hedwig's Social Center. Jamestown (Map Attached): All of College Ward One voters will be casting ballots at IBEW Local 106 (Opposite JCC lot), 322 James Ave; All of Chadakoin Ward Three voters will be casting ballots at the Gateway Train Station, a new poll site location, 211 West 2nd Street Jamestown; All Bergman Ward 4 voters will be casting ballots at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 40 Hallock St; All Forest Ward 5 voters will be casting ballots at Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, 381 S Main St; Immanuel Lutheran Church, will be hosting center city voters registered in Jamestown Ward 2 District 1 and Ward 6 District 2; Christ First United Methodist Church, 663 Lakeview Ave Jamestown will be hosting Lakeview area voters from Ward 3 Districts 2 and 3; and Camp St United Methodist Church, 110 Sanford Dr., will be hosting Willard Heights area voters from Ward 6 districts 1 and 3. There are seven poll sites in Jamestown. All voters in Chautauqua County received individual mail check cards from the Board of Election in August or at the time of voter registration that outlined where every voter votes. The board also did a second mailing to any voter with a new poll site. There will be greeter workers at every poll sites with hand held computers to allow for instant look up of all voter information. ###
