All in favor, say, "I do!" Last month Precious

March 2015
All in favor, say, "I do!"
....and they did!
It was the military couples'
"Renewal of Vows" marriage
session at Eagles Summit
Ranch in Colorado. Wow!
What a huge success.
Did you know that according to some statistics as
many as 80% of our wounded heroes' marriages fail?
For so many their marriages are not only "on the rocks"
but are "under the rocks!" This hemorrhaging must be
stopped... and NOW! Our wounded heroes have paid a
dear price in earning a Purple Heart only to be rewarded
by a broken heart at the loss of their spouse. We here at
Operation Warrior Reconnect of the Roever Foundation
are committed to healing the wounded and reconnecting
them to their spouses, families, friends and faith.
It was not easy for the couples who attended our session
to recommit to healing a broken marriage, but as the
session ended and as the words "I do" were exchanged
again, they had been equipped with new skills for a
fresh start.
Last month brought another new endeavor to our
repertoire of programs. Our signature program is our
training program for wounded heroes. Added to that we
offer programs for families (spouses and children) of
our wounded heroes...family camp! Also we are
continually working with active duty military as a resiliency coach in the Comprehensive Soldier and Family
Fitness program in which we travel nationally and internationally bringing a message of hope to our military.
However, February brought a new dimension to our
outreach as we added a program for Gold Star moms.
Precious mothers of fallen soldiers are now coming
to the ranch in Colorado for times of healing and
refreshing! My heart grieves for these mothers, and now
God has opened this new door of ministry!
We will not relinquish the hold or the challenge to
meet the needs of those who have paid so great a price
for the cause of freedom! I wish it were possible to tell
you about all of the programs which we are conducting,
but it is not possible as some programs are required to
remain "under the radar."
Your trust IN and participation WITH us, is
why we succeed. In 2005 we started building the ranches
for our warriors' healing and reconnection to family and
friends. Two years later we opened, and since that time
thousands of devastated, young, heroic men and women
who were wounded in action have walked through the
doors of our facilities. They come in groups of twelve to
fifteen at a time...small, intimate groups — no one lost in
the shuffle, everyone ministered to one-on-one, and
continuing mentorship for those who desire. For you we
offer true opportunity for partnership. We are not giving
free gifts in exchange for your donations nor are we
funding pricy commercials. Just straight forward "meet
the challenge" request for support. I refuse to diminish
our injured heroes in profiteering or to insult your
intelligence with advertising gimmicks. Either we care or
we don't care. And if we care, then we must respond with
sacrificial support and loving kindness. Your joining with
us provides that care by covering the travel costs and
program expenses for housing, meals and training. Please
continue to give, and if possible, up your commitment to
expand with the increasing financial demands as thousands of military return from Afghanistan. Can I count on
your response today? No gimmicks. No blankets. No
t-shirts. People still remain the best return on investment
(ROI) of all time. Every gift is greatly appreciated.
Nothing, and I mean nothing, is as appreciated as a good book to
read following excruciating moments of extreme and highly animated violent
confrontations with one's enemies. A good distraction from boring lulls in
combat or mind boggling training exercises is to find a major soothing of the
brain to help refocus for the next round. I'm talking about a good book that
relates to your personal circumstances and hits squarely the precise nature of
your desperate need for spiritual direction and mental stability. I'm not
referring to entertainment magazines or movie reviews.
I'm not suggesting a good novel to waste the mind in useless and fictitious
imagination. I'm referring to a book that targets the greatest need for the war
weary soldier who has multiple deployments and loss of battle buddies to
the enemy's unending onslaught and the greater enemy of loneliness. When
faith takes a bullet in the heart this book will rekindle the flame of hope for
today and reignite passion for tomorrow.
War and Recovery is just that kind of book. Written by a warrior, for the
warrior, this book is filled with warriors’ stories of valor, pride and pain, mixed with powerful and
revealing scriptures of God's plan for lives through the darkest experience of war to the brightest
expectation of recovery. W ar and Recovery works to focus the mind on a positive and productive
outcome when everything else is tanking. Hope prevails in this collection of war experiences. The best
gift you can give a soldier is hope. Today you can send the book, W ar and Recovery, to a warrior
through the book giveaway campaign which Roever Foundation is sponsoring. We will deliver it directly
to a soldier at NO COST to them. You buy and we deliver!
It's that easy. Some of you can buy a box, a case, or even a pallet of books, and we will deliver this powerful scripture packed book of hope FREE TO THE MILITARY!
Please give this book a chance to change hurt into hope. Tragedy into triumph. We will do our part as
you do your part.
Together lives will be saved. Hope stops suicide. Truth gives peace in turmoil.
ACT NOW to place W ar and Recovery into the hands and hearts of our defenders of freedom.
