Spiritual Journey to the Holy Land | November 4th – 12th, 2014
Day 1: Tuesday, Nov 4th
Departure
Our spiritual pilgrimage begins as we depart the U.S. on our flight to
Israel.
Overnight: Flight
Day 2: Wednesday, Nov 5th
Welcome to the Holy Land
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport and meet with our representative who will
assist you through passport control and provide transportation to your
hotel. Check in, and enjoy your first dinner in Israel. Overnight: Tel Aviv
Day 3: Thursday, Nov 6th
Caesarea | Nazareth | Tiberias
After breakfast, depart the hotel and drive to Old Jaffa. Continue to
Caesarea where Paul was imprisoned and tried, and where he converted
Cornelius. Proceed to Megiddo (Armageddon), one of King Solomon’s
chariot cities. Proceed to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his early years;
visit Mary’s Well and the Church of the Annunciation. Just north of
Nazareth is the village of Cana, the site of Jesus’ first miracle. Arrive at
your hotel in Tiberias, check in and enjoy dinner.

Day 4: Friday, Nov 7
Tiberias | Capernaum | Tabgha
After breakfast, begin the day with a Boat Ride on the Sea of Galilee,
from Tiberias to Nof Ginossar. View the remains of a boat from the
time of Jesus. Continue to Capernaum, center of Jesus’ Ministry; located
here are the ruins of an ancient synagogue and the site of Peter’s house.
Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fish and
see the fish mosaic from the 5th century Byzantine basilica. Drive to the
Mount of Beatitudes, site of the “Sermon on the Mount”. Take some
time for personal meditation. Travel through the Upper Galilee to the
Banias Springs (Caesarea Philippe), where Peter made his confession of
faith. Return to the hotel and enjoy dinner.

Day 5: Saturday, Nov 8th
Jordan River | Mount Tabor | Jerusalem
After breakfast, drive to Yardenit on the shores of the Jordan River and
renew Baptismal promises.
Visit Mount Tabor, site of the
Transfiguration. Drive through the Jordan Valley River Rift to Jericho,
the oldest and lowest inhabited city in the world, to visit the Mount of
Temptation. Ascend the Judean Hills to reach Jerusalem, the city of
peace, and home of the three monotheistic religions. Arrive at your hotel,
check in, and enjoy dinner.

Day 6: Sunday, Nov 9th
Jerusalem: the Old City
After breakfast, ascend the Mount of Olives to visit the Chapel of the
Ascension and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem
with the Temple Mount. Walk down the Mount of Olives to the Garden of
Gethsemane, the place where Jesus was arrested, to see the old olive trees and
visit the Basilica of the Agony. We will pray together at this special place
surrounded by old olive trees, possibly from the time of Jesus. Through the
Lion's Gate we shall walk into the Old City. Stand on Mount Zion: visit the
High Priest Caiphas's House where Jesus was put in the pit awaiting his trial,
and where Peter preached and thousands were saved on the Day of Pentecost.
Proceed through the Via Dolorosa, walking along some of the Stations of the
Cross. Walk through the Christian Quarter to visit St. Ann’s Crusader
Church, Ecce Homo (Lithostrotos), and Antonia Fortress. Celebrate
Communion at the Garden Tomb. Return to your hotel and enjoy dinner.

Day 7: Monday, Nov 10
Masada & the Dead Sea
After breakfast, drive via the Good Samaritan Inn to the mountain fortress of
Masada, the last stronghold of the Jews in the war against the Romans. Ascend
to the mountaintop fortress by cable car to visit the palaces of Herod the Great
with its Roman baths and pools. Later, stop for a possible dip and float in the
salty water of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. On the way back to
Jerusalem, stop in Qumran - the city of the Essens - where the Dead Sea scrolls
were found in a cave by a shepherd. Return to your hotel and enjoy dinner.

Day 8: Tuesday, Nov 11th
Jerusalem: the New City & Bethlehem
After breakfast, tour the New City of Jerusalem beginning with the Shrine of
the Book at the Israel Museum where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed, as
well as at the Holy Land Model to see a scale model of ancient Jerusalem in the
time of the Second Temple. Continue to Yad Vashem, the national memorial to
the Holocaust. In the afternoon, drive to Manger Square in Bethlehem* and
visit the Church of the Nativity and the Milk Grotto. In the evening, enjoy a
Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant. Your tour guide will honor each
individual with a personal Pilgrim Certificate. Following dinner, transfer to Ben
Gurion Airport for your flight back home departing at 12:40am.

Back Home
Your flight arrives in El Paso, TX at 8:43pm. Welcome back!
