1) What happened between George Washington and France and how
was it resolved?
George Washington led the attack that killed the French leader. After a tenhour siege at Fort Necessity, Washington was forced to surrender.
2) Why was the Seven Years War fought? Who was involved?
The war was partially ignited due to George Washington's actions in the
Ohio Valley with many other conflicts following this incident. The war
spread across all seven seas and the entire world was fighting.
3) What was the result of the British Colonies in America?
The war in a way had a positive effect on the colonies because this made
them realize how much they needed unity. The colonies were now more tightknit than ever, as shown by Benjamin Franklin's "Join or Die" cartoon.
4) What mistake did the British make early on in the war that caused it
to drag on longer than it should have?
The British tried attacking random exposed wilderness posts at the same
time instead of heading for Quebec and Montreal.
5) What changes did William Pitt make in the war that gave the British
a decisive victory over France?
Pitt decided to slow down attacks on the French West Indies because it had
been weakening the British. He decided to focus more on the QuebecMontreal area of Canada.
6) What happened at the Battle of Quebec?
James Wolfe led the attack that led to Britain's victory and conquering of
Quebec, finally defeating the French.
7) What was the result of the war for the French?
French power was thrown off of North America, leaving behind the people in
their colonies with their culture. The only land the French were allowed to
keep were some sugar islands in the West Indies and small fishing islets.
8) What feelings grew during the war amongst colonists from various
places in America? + What feelings grew between British Colonials
and the British soldiers during the war?
The British Colonials and British soldier became even more proud of their
country and their strength, and their military confidence increased.
The colonists' distaste for Americans greatly grew during and after the war.
9) What was Pontiac's uprising (Pontiacs Rebellion)?
An uprising led by the Ottawa chief Pontiac because their French allies were
no longer in North America. The British retaliated quickly, killing many
Indians including Pontiac himself.
10) What was the Proclamation of 1763?
This was a proclamation that prohibited settlement in the area past the
Appalachians. The purpose of this statement was to work out the issue with
the Indians well and prevent another uprising like Pontiac's.
