BowlsDraw version 2 22 September 2012 Page 5 of 12 BowlsDraw.co.za Users Manual, Sectional Play – Knockout 5 Press The system makes provision to send results to the press. 5.1 Press Addresses The first step is to create a press address list. This list is created once for a Controlling Body and all competitions make use of the same press address list. The function can be found in the menu under the heading Administrative. This is only available to the MasterUser. When the function is entered existing addresses are listed. Any of the addresses can be changed or deleted or a new address can be added. The Results to Press and Logs to Press functions will send e-mails to these addresses. Hint. It might be a good idea to include other addresses as well, e.g. District secretaries’ addresses on National competitions. In the example rounds 1, 2 and 3 were selected. Click on Format Message when completed. 5.2.2 Sending e-mail The message which was formatted by the system is displayed. This message may be altered if so required. When satisfied with the message click on ‘Send the e-mail’. No further action is required. If all results have not been entered yet a warning is displayed. You have the choice to Send the incomplete information or Select the results capturing program to enter the missing scores. When completed the Results to Press function can be initiated again. There is also a ‘View e-mail addresses’ button. Clicking on this button will cause the list of current e-mail addresses to be displayed, but this is purely of an informative nature. BowlsDraw version 2 22 September 2012 Page 9 of 12 BowlsDraw.co.za Users Manual, Sectional Play – Knockout 6.2 Playoffs Where more than one section was created when the draw was done a play-off draw was simultaneously done. A Playoff draw is a knockout draw where the section winners are automatic entries into the draw. In the example used in this manual the playoff option selected when defining the competition was a playoff for Gold, Silver and Bronze. This differs slightly from a playoff where only Gold and Silver are determined. 6.2.1 Up to semi-finals Where playoffs are played up to Gold en Silver the winner would have been shown and the finalists’ results would have been available. As the Gold, Silver and Bronze option was selected in this example results are only shown up to the semi-finals. The semifinals winners and runners-up are transferred to the finals report and the Finals results are shown in the Finals report.
