FREELY MOVEABLE JOINTS CEU HOURS

COURSE TITLE:
CEU HOURS:
COURSE LENGTH:
FREELY MOVEABLE JOINTS
25 credit hours
4 DAYS
COURSE DESCRTIPTION:
Freely Moveable Joints is an advanced level Zero Balancing course that expands the
focus of Zero Balancing from the foundation and semi-foundation joints of the body to
include the “freely moveable joints” of the body. Zero Balancing principles and
techniques are taken beyond the Core Zero Balancing protocol into other arenas. The
freely moveable joints present unique therapeutic challenges because of the variety of
their anatomy and their great ranges of motion. By the end of the program you will have
the skills to evaluate and balance freely moveable joints and the knowledge to devise
your own fulcrums to meet the specific needs of a given situation.
In Freely Moveable Joints (Beyond the Protocol) we will review basic ZB principles and
highlight their application to a number of joints in light of their specific anatomy. The
skills and education inherent in this course will broaden your Zero Balancing abilities and
will improve your Zero Balancing sessions.
You Will Learn:
•
Highlights of Zero Balancing principles as they apply to FMJs
•
Upper extremity: shoulder girdle, shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers
•
Lower extremity: knee, ankle, metatarsals, toes
•
Accessing the sacro-iliac joint via the hip
•
Aceetabular hip fulcrum
•
Temporomandibular joint fulcrum
•
Direct bone fulcrums and ‘bone bending’
•
Teachings designed to deepen your basic ZB skills and protocol use
•
By exchanging Zero Balancing sessions and seeing ZB demonstrations
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
•
State 2 ideals for deepening the protocol
•
Demonstrate fulcrums specifically for both upper and lower extremities
•
Demonstrate assessment of the SI joint and hip
•
State 2 facts related to the TMJ
•
Demonstrate proper fulcrum for leg including foot

Learning Objectives
This advanced workshop builds on the knowledge of the Core Zero Balancing teachings.
Participants will review and refine the work from the Core teachings and also learn
hands-on techniques to evaluate and affect pain and dysfunction in what we are calling
the freely moveable joints. Participants will refine all techniques with supervised handson practice and skilled demonstrations.
Day One
Introduction to the study guide and how to use it.
Refine basic Zero Balancing fulcrums – producing more powerful fulcrums with less
effort. Body mechanics tips and focusing fulcrums.
Use the new information in practice by giving a full session.
Day Two
Understand basic pricinples of evaluating and balancing freely moveable joints.
Overview of anatomy of wrist, elbow, shoulder girdle, carpals, and phalanges.
Zero Balancing evaluation and balancing of these areas. Precise fulcrums with detailed
hands-on information.
Understand how this new information can be integrated into a full Zero Balancing
session.
Day Three
Use theory and information learned on other joints and apply this to the ankle.
Deepen understanding of the theory and mechanics of fulcrums.
Overview of anatomy of ankle, tibia-fibula articulations, and knee.
Zero Balancing evaluation and balancing of these areas. Precise fulcrums with detailed
hands-on information.
Incorporating the new information into a full Zero Balancing session.
Day Four
Further review of basic Zero Balancing techniques to refine.
Overview of hip anatomy and new fulcrum for balancing problems with joint play.
Overview of anatomy of skull, TMJ, and outer ear.
Zero Balancing evaluation and balancing of these areas. Precise fulcrums with detailed
hands-on information.
