Live with friends
We offer the opportunity for
friends to share an apartment/
house if they indicate this on their
booking forms. However we cannot
guarantee that all requests will be
granted.
Art in residence
In the first semester, we offer a
scheme whereby you can choose
artwork for your apartment at an
annual exhibition. You can request
a piece and while you may not get
your first choice, we will guarantee
an artwork for your house/
apartment.
The environment – a joint
responsibility.
We are conscious of protecting
the environment, as we have
invested to create attractive natural
surroundings in each village.
Our Green Campaign is
launched at the start of each
semester which heightens our
awareness and the impact our
carbon footprint has on our
environment. We produce large
amounts of waste which must be
recycled as far as possible and
we also use a lot of energy. We
therefore request that you recycle
and sort paper and plastic waste.
We also ask you to switch off lights,
TVs and electrical items when not
in use.

Management
Village Management on site
The Village Manager lives in the
village as part of the community
to ensure that a safe, comfortable
environment exists for all. The
success of the village community
is a shared responsibility between
students and the management, as it
is only with students’ co-operation
on noise levels, housekeeping
and preserving the environment
that village residences can remain
attractive places to live.
Campus Life Services aim to provide
a high quality service and to ensure
that students have an enjoyable
experience in residence.
The Village Manager provides
a reception/drop in service for
students, Monday – Friday and
oversees the property maintenance
of the Village.
Resident Assistants (RA)
In addition to the Village Manager,
two RA’s live on site. The RA,
normally a post graduate student, is
available to assist residents
with problems that might arise in
the village.
9
All residential staff are available for
help and advice. Staff have an open
door policy and will discuss matters
in private and with discretion.
Maintenance
We provide a full maintenance
service in all villages. Our
maintenance crew are on hand
to ensure all reported faults are
attended to promptly.
Campus Security
Campus Security operates a nightly
patrol service in each Village. They
attend to serious emergencies such as
fire or accidents. While the security
service is there for student protection,
they are also there to prevent
excessive noise and to maintain
a peaceful environment at night.
Campus Security operates a Campus
Watch programme, which together
with the co-operation of students
helps create a safe environment.
Code of Conduct
Students wanting to live in residence
should consider if they can abide
by the Code of Conduct which is
applicable in each Village. Living in
a community requires the ability to
share and respect the rights of others.
This requires the ability to enjoy living
with others, share the cleaning duties,
observe hours of quiet, and adhere to
the village code of conduct.
The Code of Conduct is strictly
enforced and students who disregard
it may be asked to leave the
community mid-term and may
not be allowed to return to residence
in subsequent years.
Management
Campus Life Services
Village residences are managed
by Plassey Campus Centre Ltd, a
University company established by
University of Limerick to develop and
manage student accommodation
and other related services which
help to create a vibrant campus life.
These services are known under the
umbrella title of
Campus Life Services.
