Step-by-Step Mixing Instructions
(Please read all directions before beginning)
Mold Preparation:
1. Cut contact paper the size of the mold.
2. Place glass face down on the sticky side of the contact paper and press into place.
3. Place contact paper with the glass into mold, sticky side up.
Mixing:
1.Determine the number of cups of outdoor cement and fluid ounces of water needed (refer to
Measurement Chart) for your size mold.
2. Wearing a dust mask and safety glasses, add cement to a bucket. Pour water into mixing bucket, stirring
as you add to the cement. Liquid measurements are approximate. Should your mixture be dry, continue to
add water, 2 ounces at a time.
3. Mix vigorously until smooth and all lumps are removed (consistency should be equal to pancake batter).
Mosaic Tip: Wear a glove and mix with a gloved hand, breaking apart any lumps as you mix.
4. Place mold on a flat level surface where it will not be moved while drying. Slowly and evenly pour cement
into mold. No reinforcement is needed. Fill approximately 7/8 full.
5.Lightly tap the sides of the mold for 1-2 minutes to release any air bubbles. DO NOT MOVE MOLD WHILE
CEMENT IS DRYING.
6.Allow cement to set-up in mold for 12 hours before removing from mold. Place stone on several layers of
newspaper. Peel off contact paper and clean off any smudged cement on glass with a wet sponge or a green
scrubby. Continue drying for an additional 12 hours.
7.Allow stone to fully cure indoors for 28 days before placing outdoors.
8. Jennifer’s Mosaics™ Outdoor Cement is designed for outdoor use. A waterproof sealant may be applied.
If used, apply cement sealant after the stone has cured and coat entire stone. Remove sealant from glass
before it dries. Check annually and reapply as needed.
