Preserve is a privilege reserved for members of NJ Audubon.
Members strengthen the voice with which NJAS
speaks out for protection of New Jersey’s wildlife
and natural areas, and provide essential financial
support for wildlife sanctuaries and programs in
conservation, education, and research.

When can I book a party?
We hold birthday parties on Saturdays at
11 AM & 2:30 PM. Some Sundays available
upon request. We ask that you plan your
party two months in advance.

Birding for Birthdays
Get fun and feathery on our fuzzy bird trail–
where party guests will find stuffed animal birds
with real bird calls hidden along our Orange trail.
Sensory Safari
This interactive hike will connect party guests to
our senses with activities to explore our trails
with sight, touch, smells, and sounds.
Nature Treasure Hunt
What could be more fun than to hike our trails
matching natural objects to treasure hunt pictures? Party guests will have a picture-based
game card to complete while exploring.
Topics for kids turning 7-10 years old
Nature Detectives
This challenging scavenger hunt will have guests
searching high and low for clues left behind by
our native wildlife.
Woodland Games
We will hike out as a group to have some fun in
the forest! Games vary; call for details.
Ponds & Pools: Seasonal April-October
Explore the aquatic life around lake McCormack
with our experienced staff. Guests will have hand
nets to sample the water for the living creatures.
Cold Weather Creatures: Seasonal Nov.-March
Guests will hike keeping an eye and ear out for
animals that stay in NJ for winter. We will look
for animal tracks and talk about strategies that
these animals use to earn the name
Party Space
You will be renting either one or both of our
classroom spaces for a three hour period– including set up and clean up. Our lobby has a fun
indoor “treehouse” that kids love, and guests
are welcome to explore our nature center before and after the program.
We Provide
Tables, chairs, trash cans and liner bags, and recycling receptacles. More options are available See the add-on page with fees.
You Provide
Food, cake, drinks, ice, party favors, set up and
clean up, and supervision of your guests.
Tablecloths, plates, cups, utensils, and napkins if
you don’t pick the add-on option.
Safety
Party hosts must comply with Plainsboro Preserve limitations (no smoking, alcohol, pets,
etc.) Parking is in designated area only. Party
hosts are responsible for behavior of all participants. Please advise all guests to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the season. NO
OPEN TOED SHOES—WE WILL BE ON THE
TRAILS.
General Rules
The following are not permitted: balloons, wall
decorations, or sticky hands in party favors. All
food must stay within the party room. The
room must be returned to its original condition
during clean up.
Children may not enter the gift shop unless accompanied by their parent.
