All walks are vetted beforehand to ensure their suitability. Walkers are Welcome insurance
covers public liability but is not an accident insurance and all members must be aware that
they walk at their own risk. It is up to individuals to know their capabilities and limitations.
The walk leader may refuse to allow anyone to participate in a walk if considered unfit for
the walk or not wearing suitable clothing and footwear. That said, the objective is to enjoy
walking.

Tuesday 22nd March : Boroughbridge Film Society presents Rabbit Proof Fence.
In 1931, after being plucked unwillingly from their homes to be trained as domestic staff, three
Aboriginal girls escape and set off across the Outback to find their way home. Cert PG 2003
Adventure/Drama/Biography starting at 8.00pm in Coronation Hall, Milby (Boroughbridge).
Admission at the door is £4.00 and there will be a bar and tea/ coffee.
Good Friday 25th March: Dog Kennel Lane Walk. Starting at 10.00am in Langthorpe,
by the A1 Bridge. Boroughbridge Historical Society will take you on a fascinating 5 mile (8km)
walk, passing through Skelton-on-Ure Village. You will discover the ancient history of this area,
walk along paths used by the Tudors and enjoy the scenic views. Complimentary tea and coffee

Good Friday 25th March: Photography Walk. Led by Ken Harrison, approximately 4
miles (6km), starting from Roecliffe Village Green at 2.00 pm Bring any camera along for a
ramble through time and place, A local photographer will be pointing out locations, giving
advice; with plenty of tips and tricks and information along the route. Complimentary tea and

Good Friday 25 March: Ghost Walk of Boroughbridge. Discovering characters and
legends from the town’s past. Led by ‘The Hightimers’ and starting from St James Square at 7.30
pm, the walk is, approximately 1 mile (1.5km), lasting 1 hour…. and full of surprises! With help

Easter Sunday 27th March: Arkendale. This 5.5mile (9km) circular walk starts

Easter Sunday 27th March: Langthorpe Loop. A 3 mile (5km) walk The walk
starts in the Picnic Area in Langthorpe, by the bridge at 2.00 pm it is being led
by’The Amblers’ Tour of Kirby Hill Church and refreshments in aid of Church

Easter Monday 28th March: Myton-on-Swale and Battle of Myton Walk.
A circular walk, starting from Myton Church at 1.00 pm and covering 4 miles
(6.5km). Of special interest is the history of the village and the conservation area,
including the site of the famous ‘White Battle’ in 1319. The walk concludes with
