1. Why are you asking me to switch from Hexagon to HSBCnet?
HSBCnet allows us to improve our service to you:

4. It’s my company’s policy prohibiting the use of Internet banking. Can I
choose not to switch to HSBCnet?
As technology develops, so do threats that unsecured platforms face online. HSBCnet
makes Internet banking safer by combining security technology with access controls,
infrastructure safeguards and regular reviews. If you wish to know more, please refer to
the enclosed Security Brief which includes details on technical specification, authorisation
and logon process. Alternatively, you can find the information at www.hsbcnet.com. As
Hexagon will eventually be demised, we suggest you discuss this further with your IT

5. I don’t have Internet access, what should I do?
If you don’t currently have a PC with Internet access you won’t be able to use HSBCnet.
We strongly recommend that you arrange for Internet access as soon as possible.

As we have designed HSBCnet specifically for businesses such as yours, Hexagon will no
longer be available once all customers have migrated to HSBCnet. Please upgrade to

HSBCnet now and enjoy the new and exciting service features in HSBCnet.

7. What will happen after I have sent the document?
Once you have returned the completed document to us, we will send you an
acknowledgement letter and will complete the setup of your required accounts and
services on to the HSBCnet. Your ISAs will receive the smart cards; the card readers and
PINs will be mailed out separately. Once your ISAs have entitled all the end users, all of
them can transact on HSBCnet.
8. What should I do with my payment templates?
For online payment templates, we will automatically convert them from Hexagon to
HSBCnet. For offline payment templates and beneficiary lists, we will provide you with a
migration tool for converting them from Hexagon to HSBCnet as well.
9. I have a personal account held on Hexagon, do I need to switch that too?
Any personal accounts held on Hexagon need to be transferred to Personal Internet

22. Will my Hexagon access be closed straight away?
No. To give you time to get used to HSBCnet, we will continue your Hexagon service in
parallel for 60 days.
23. Do I have to do anything to close my Hexagon access?
No, we will automatically terminate it after 60 days.
24. What should I do with my installation of Hexagon after I have moved
to HSBCnet?
You will probably want to keep Hexagon on your PC until you are sure you don’t need to
refer to it again. Ideally, you should back up the Hexagon installation before removing it.
25. Do I need to do anything to retain my Hexagon data?
Yes. You can export the data to a format that you prefer by the ‘Report Writer’ function
in offline Hexagon. For further information on how to do this, please refer to the Hexagon
