RACEWAY 5K RACE GUIDE
The Rotary Club of Carpentersville-Morning is excited to bring our 5th Annual RaceWay 5K Fun
Run & Walk to the Historical Meadowdale International RaceWay in Raceway Woods in
Carpentersville. Below you will find the race details and delights and it is essential that each
participant read through the entire document to ensure they are well informed and will have
amazing race experience.
REGISTRATION
Pre Registration:
You have 2 ways to Pre Register:
1. (Online) Visit https://Raceway5k.itsyourrace.com/register/ to register online (fees
apply) now through 11:59pm (CT) Wednesday August 9, 2017
2. (In Person) Visit the following location by 6pm Friday August 11, 2017 to register in
person:
Main Street Bicycles
39 E. Main St.
Carpentersville, IL
**We strongly recommend Pre-Registering for the event to avoid day of congestion**
Day of Registration:
Day of registration will start at 6:30 am and take place at the designated area near the starting
line. Please allow yourself enough time to get through registration and be ready for the start of
the race.
Bag Check In: Drop of location to leave any belongings while running the race will be located by
the registration area.
Day of Sign In:
All participants who pre-registered will need to sign in starting at 6:30 am at the designated sign
in area near the starting line.
*RaceWay 5k Performance T-Shirts will be available for those who pre-register by Sunday July
23, 2017. Limited quantities and sizes will be available after that date. The T-Shirts will be
distributed at the pre-race packet pick up on Friday August 11, 2017 and will be saved and
distributed the day of the race to those who pre-registered on time but could not make the prerace packet pickup.*
**Day of Registration and Day of Sign In areas will be separate lines but both will be
located in the designated area near the starting line**
What to Bring:
Proof of Registration: Pre registered participants will receive proof of registration or emails that
you will need to hold onto and present at the Sign In area on the day of the race. Use of the
proof or registration is strongly recommended otherwise we will have to look up your name
which may take up more time. Any participant signing in for a friend make sure you have their
proof of registration as well.
PRE RACE PACKET PICK UP
All participants who have pre registered can pick up their race packet with bib numbers and tshirt (with proof of registration) ahead of time at Main Street Bicycles (39 E. Main St.
Carpentersville, IL) on Friday August 11, 2017 from 12 pm – 6 pm.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
6:30 AM – Registration & Sign In begins
8:00 AM – Race Begins
9:00 AM - 10:30 AM – Finish Line Fiesta!
STARTING LINE
All racers running or walking will start at the 8am race time. Advanced runners are encouraged
to make their way to the head of the pack at the starting line to avoid being stuck behind
walkers.
EVENT TIMING
We are happy to continue our partnership with Crossroads Events for official RFID chip timing at
the start and finish of this year’s event.
Crossroads Events will use their state of the art Innovative Timing Systems' Jaguar system to
time our events. No need to worry about tripping on finish line mats as Jaguar uses antennas
that are mounted out of the way of participants and interacts with your RFID chips to record your
time. They will provide accurate results as soon as a participant crosses the finish line which will
be viewable via the monitor they provide. Crossroad Events will provide the following to ensure
our event timing is as professional as possible:

Awarding/Scoring
The Top 3 Male & Female finishers will be awarded special RaceWay 5K prizes & medals for
winning the race.
Also the top 3 Male & Female finishers for the specified age groups will be awarded medals for
winning the age group.
Age Groups: 14 & Younger, 15 – 19, 20 – 24, 25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 –
54, 55 – 59, 60+
INSPIRATION STATIONS
As you run keep an eye out for Inspiration Stations designed to give you the boost you need to
finish the race with confidence and an overall sense of greatness! Inspirations stations will
include cheering sections, refreshing water, inspirational signage, a cooling station & much
more. Be ready to be inspired and inspire others!
FINISH LINE FIESTA
When you finish the race be sure to clear the finish line for the racers behind you. Water will be
available at the finish line for your rehydrating needs.
As soon as all racers have finished the top 3 male & female racers will be presented with a
special race prize.
PARKING:
RACE DAY PARKING WILL BE AT THE DESIGINATED PARKING AREA MARKED ON THE
MAP BELOW ONLY. THE PARKING LOT IS ACCESSABLE OFF OF ROUTE 31 NORTH OF
MAIN ST./HUNTLEY RD. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO MAKE ENOUGH TIME FOR PARKING AS
THERE IS ONLY 2 ENTRANCE POINTS. CARPOOLING IS ENCOURAGED! WE WILL DO
EVERYHTING WITHIN OUR POWER TO ENSURE THE PARKING IS RUN AS SMOOTHLY
AS POSSIBLE.
RACE PARTICIPANS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARK AT THE ALREADY EXISTING
LOTS MARKED ON THE MAP BELOW.
PORT-O-POTTIES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR USE IN THE PARKING LOT AND NEAR THE
STARTING LINE!
RACE MAP:
Inspirational stations will be positioned along the course to inspire & encourage a successful
finish!
RUNNING / WALKING / JOGGING / SKIPPING
Whatever you want to do on your own two feet to finish the race is fine with us. Be respectful to
those around you who may be moving at a different pace and don’t take up the whole track!
PETS
Unfortunately for insurance reasons pets can be present but are not allowed to take part in the
race so please make plans for their care while you are away. You can tell them all about it when
you get home.
WATER
Water will be available at the finish line and 2 rehydration stations around the course.
WEATHER
The event will take place rain or shine. In case of rain please dress accordingly.
CARPENTERSVILLE ROTARY
The proceeds generated from the RaceWay 5K event will benefit the
operations & charities of the Rotary Club of Carpentersville-Morning. The
Rotary Club of Carpentersville-Morning is a local chapter of an
international organization dedicated to making a positive difference in our
local community, national community and international community through

WAIVER
By participating in the RaceWay 5K event, you acknowledge and agree to the release waiver
that was presented to you as part of the registration process. For children under the age of 7
that will be participating in the event, a release waiver must be signed by the parent/guardian.
The release waiver is part of the registration form if done in person and is an agreed to item
when done online.
