Troop Box Donations
Each year McCormick Elementary School students and families have
contributed items to be placed into small troop boxes. These boxes are then
provided to the local Yellow Ribbon military support group to be sent to
deployed military personnel around the world. To date, McCormick has
provided more than 400 boxes for our men and women. We would like to invite
our families to once again donate items from the list provided. Your donations
will be divided among boxes and a letter from McCormick will be included.
Inside this Issue:
McCormick will be accepting donations from October 17-21. Please select
items from the list provided.

McCormick Talent Show has been
moved!
The annual McCormick Talent Show has
been moved to Saturday, March 11th.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday,
February 8th and a dress rehearsal on
Friday evening March 10th. Students,
begin thinking about what amazing act
you may want to perform! Parents, we
will need help since many of our talent
show volunteers have moved on to
volunteer at the Junior High. Be on the
lookout for a talent show planning
meeting in early January. Contact Ann
Grady at [email protected] if
you would like to help with this exciting
program.
Each month, the PTO Executive Board
nominates and votes on McCormick
volunteers who have gone above and
beyond in their dedication and service
to our school.
For the month of October, the PTO Board selected
Elaine Mackey to be awarded Volunteer of the Month
for their contributions to McCormick Elementary.
Elaine designed the banners and T-shirts for McCormickfest and
handled public relations and advertising. Thank you Elaine for all
the hard work to make McCormickfest such a huge success!
Thank you, Elaine, for sharing so many of your talents and
so much of your time with us!
Enjoy the origami at McMath night? Keep
an eye out in November and register for our
newest after school enrichment Holiday
Origami taking place in December.
Come visit McCormick's own Jason Jacobs at the Old West Fest this Fall! Travel back to
the old west for a fun, family day. He will be performing four magic shows a day there.
