Entrance to Fort Detrick – Rosemont Avenue (Old Farm Gate)
For non-decaled vehicles, all visitors must enter by the Old Farm entrance on Rosemont Avenue during 0600-1800. They
will need to have a valid driver’s license, car registration and proof of insurance. The vehicle will undergo a search and
contents of trunk may have to be emptied.
Directions to Fort Detrick – Rosemont Avenue - Old Farm Gate (non-decaled vehicles) and then to 1520A
Freedman Drive.
Directions from Washington, D. C.
Take Interstate 495 North to Interstate 270 (Exit #38) toward Rockville, MD.
At Frederick, Interstate 270 ends and joins Route 15 North.
Follow Rt 15 North to the Rosemont Ave. exit.
Turn right on Rosemont Ave. towards Ft. Detrick follow approx. 1 mile to Fort Detrick's Old Farm Gate Entrance (on
right)
Once through the gate, turn right onto Doughten Drive, stay on Doughten Drive
Turn left onto Porter Street until you come to Freedman Drive turn right. Parking lot is on the right and the building is
on the right.
Directions from Baltimore, MD
Take Interstate 695 around Baltimore to Interstate 70 West.
In Frederick, take Exit #53, Route 15 North.
Follow Rt 15 North to the Rosemont Ave. exit.
Turn right on Rosemont Ave. towards Ft. Detrick follow approx. 1 mile to Fort Detrick's Old Farm Gate Entrance.
Once through the gate, turn right onto Doughten Drive, stay on Doughten Drive
Turn left onto Porter Street until you come to Freedman Drive turn right. Parking lot is on the right and the building is
on the right.

Directions to Fort Detrick – 7 Street Gate and then to 1520A Freedman Drive.
