English Homework
Red Group
Mr and Mrs Dursley, of number four Privet Drive, were proud to say they were
perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you’d expect
to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn’t hold
with such nonsense.
Mr Dursley was a director of a firm called Grunnings, which made
drills. He was a big, beefy man with hardly any neck, although he did have a
very large moustache. Mrs Dursley was thin and blonde and had nearly twice
the usual amount of neck which came in very useful as she spent so much time
craning over garden fences, spying on the neighbours. The Dursley’s has a
small son and in their opinion there was no finer boy anywhere.
Questions:
1) I have coloured one type of word red. What type of words are they?
2) Can you find two examples that I have missed? Can you also suggest one
to go on the empty line?
3) Copy out the sentences below. I have missed out 5 capital letters and 3
full stops. Put them in where they are needed.
the dursleys had everything they wanted
but they had a secret
they couldn’t bear it if anyone found out about the potters
Top tip - You might want to write on your sheet before you start writing in
your homework book. Just make sure that you do copy it carefully into your
homework book.
