64th Rallye Sanremo, the rally is the protagonist beside the Special Stages
SANREMO (IM) – In the charming frame of the Sanremo Casino Theatre there was the pre event press
conference in front of media and fans.
These the quotes of the main protagonists of the event.
Romeo Olmo – A warm welcome to all drivers of Rallye Sanremo from my side as Manager of the
casino of Sanremo that I’m here representing. This year edition is a historic event because with the help
of everyone it’s made possible to have the start just in front of the Casino, idea born by the suggestion of
an ald picture. This suggestion has become true and we are very proud of it.
Sergio Maiga I want to thank the opportunity that has been given to us to start from the Casino. I thank
the municipality that allow us to make this event and also all of who is helping us for this to become
true.

Maurizio Rossi – I couldn’t miss this event an run here in Sanremo for the third time in the historic
Rally. The athmosphere is unique. I’m here also because in 2017 Primo Canale TV turns 35 years old
and is born the year I run my first rally. This year through the website www.rallylive.it we try to bring
this rally to all the fans and I believe we have succeded.
Hayden Paddon Sanremo is very fast, twisty roads it’s a perfect preparation for my next WRC event in
Corsica. I’m very happy to be able to run these stages that made the history of rallying.
Kalle Rovanpera Very fast stages. To make recce, since I cannot drive on normal roads here
(Rovampera is 16 years old) we used a car with right drive and I was sitting next to my father in order to
have a right vision of the stages. The most difficult part is not getting on and off the car during transfer
session, but not being able to heat tyres.
Simone Campedelli – We started well and the victory at il Ciocco rally has been unexpected. We are
realistic and we know we are a good private team that has to fight with super champions like Paolo
Andreucci, with whom at Il Ciocco is been a honour to fight. We won’t change our approach to the race
anyway, we lokk at this Sanremo in an optimistic way. We will see where we’ll be and of course if we
feel we can fight for the race we will do it, but keeping an eye to the championship and gather important
points for it. Here is a very particular context and a good result here will have a double validity for us,
also looking at the entrance list of this edition.
Paolo Andreucci – Let’s hope to be fast, when one slow down the rivals are right there to catch you.
And here there are lots of good rivals. We need to attack since the beginning and the fight will be tough,
both for the podium and also the other positions. This is a rally whit outsiders that can do very well.
Alessandro Perico – I like this race and I did well in the past. I don’t think I’ll be competitive since the
beginning cause the car is new and we still need to do kilometers on it. Everything we will be able to do
will be good.
