prevalenceinthe45-49agegroup,at97.1%(EHIS2015,p.104),whichisalsoindicativeofadecreasein
prevalenceovertime,asinEgyptwomenarerarelycutaftertheageof17.
ThehighestprevalenceofFGMisinUpperEgypt,at92.1%.TheprevalenceinLowerEgyptis86.9%,andinthe
UrbanGovernoratesis74.5%.ThereisnoreliabledatafortheFrontierGovernorates.Thedataalsoindicates
a15.2%differenceinFGMprevalencebetweenwomen(aged15-49)wholiveinurbanareasandwomenwho
liveinruralareas,at77.4%and92.6%respectively(EHIS2015,p.104).
