PRESIDENT’S PLACE
Our Annual Membership Meeting was
held on Thursday night. Regretfully
there were only 39 homes
represented. This was, however,
enough to fulfill the quorum. This is a
summary of the major agenda items:
1. Doris Thompson, Member-AtLarge, reported that the
Treasurer’s books have been
audited and found to be accurate.
2. Greg Brandt presented the
Treasurer’s report, a copy of which
is included in this newsletter.
3. Steve Cosio gave a presentation
on the Arbors’ website and
encouraged residents to use this
as a tool for locating resources for
services and for communication to
the Board by using the Suggestion
Box.
4. I presented the budget for 200607, a copy of which is included in
this newsletter.
5. Annette Geisel presented a
proposal for installation of a
sidewalk on the west side of the
entrance at a cost of $11,366. The
proposal was defeated by a vote
of 20 to 19. (And residents don’t
think attending the annual
meetings is important!)
6. All of the proposed revisions to the
HOA Bylaws as described in the
Feb. Grapevine passed. These
revisions will go into effect
immediately.
7. These proposed revisions to the
HOA Covenants and Restrictions
were discussed, but since every
household must vote on these, no
vote at the meeting was taken
a. Adding a provision to prohibit
TV antennas, excluding
satellite dishes, from being
installed outside a residence.
b. Addition of the responsibilities
of the residents who live along
the new brick wall and wood
fence
Addition of language
recommended by our attorney
to reinforce the HOA’s ability to
file a lien in case of nonpayment
of assessments. These issues
will be further clarified soon and
each household will be
approached to cast its vote.
8. Thanks were given to Lezlee
Williams for her publication of the
Grapevine and the Directory and to
Donna Korotash for her diligent
assistance in distributing the
newsletters to the block
representatives. A huge thanks
goes to these ladies.
9. It was announced that Donna Fretz
is stepping down as Social
Chairperson, and Dick Littell is
relinquishing his position over the
Neighborhood Watch. I want to
thank each of these residents for
their service. Shelley Brandt and
Tammy Yaeger are organizing our
Easter Egg Hunt, scheduled for April
1st. A big thanks to Jerry Cloud
who has agreed to take over the
Neighborhood Watch committee.
10. Finally, the existing Board of
Directors was nominated and
elected to another term. There
were no other nominations.
c.
On behalf of the Board, I thank you all
for a great year. We have all agreed
gladly to serve the association another
year and will do the best we can to
maintain a high level of service to the
members.
We welcome your comments,
suggestions, and questions.

DONATING OLD CELL PHONES
LAUGH LINES
Wondering what to do with those old cell
phones? Here’s a great cause…..
Martin High School Key Club is
collecting old cell phones to donate to the
Women's Crisis Center.
The phones are reprogrammed so they
can only be used to call 911. The phones are
given to family members in abusive
relationships. The local police departments keep
some of them on hand. When they answer a
family disturbance call and the woman or man
refuses to leave the situation, the officer can
provide them with a phone. The shelters give
them to women and children who return to the
home or who leave the shelter but
are still in danger.
We would appreciate any
help you could give us with this
project. You may drop the phones
off with LezLee Williams—2616
Wild Ivy Trail or call me at 817477-0590 and I’ll come get it.
PERFECT HUSBAND
Several men are in the locker room of a golf
club. A cell phone on a bench rings & a man
engages the hands free speaker- function & begins to talk.
Everyone else in the room stops to listen.
MAN: "Hello."
WOMAN: "Honey, it's me. Are you at the
club?"
MAN: "Yes"
WOMAN: "I am at the mall now and found this
beautiful leather coat It's only $1,000. Is it OK
if I buy it?"
MAN: "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much."
WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Mercedes
dealership and saw the new 2006 models. I saw
one I really liked"
MAN: "How much?"
WOMAN: "$90,000"
THAT’S AMAZING...
MAN: "OK, but for that price I want it with all
the options."
Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will
stump you!
WOMAN: "Great! Oh, and one more thing ~
The house I wanted last year is back on the
market. They're asking $950,000"
1. Grab a calculator. (You won’t be able to do
this in your head)
MAN: "Well, then go ahead and give them an
offer of $900,000. They will probably take it. If
not, we can go the
2. Key in the first 3 digits of your phone number. (Not the area code.)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
extra 50 thousand. If it's really a pretty good
price."
5. Multiply by 250
WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so
much!!"
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
MAN: "Bye! I love you, too."
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number,
again.
The man hangs up. The other men in the locker
room are staring at him in astonishment,
mouths agape.....
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2
10. Do you recognize the answer?????
He smiles and asks, "Anyone know who this
phone belongs to?"

MARCH LAWN TIPS BY JOE YORK—YORK LANDSCAPING
Spring seems to be just around the corner and York Landscaping has some helpful tips
to start off the season right.
•
Its time again to scalp lawns and get them ready for this years growing season.
•
Aerating is suggested this month to ensure your roots will get enough nourishment
and to ensure a healthy root system before the summer heat strikes again.
•
One very important step to remember is to make sure that by the 15th of the
month you have applied your pre-emergent herbicide applications.
•
It’s time to trim the tops of all pampas, liriope, and all other ornamental grasses as
close to the ground as possible for new growth.
•
Scout out your lawns for any signs of snail and slug trails, and treat them now if
necessary.
•
If you are not planting spring flowers it’s also a great time to spruce up your landscape by adding mulch to your beds.
Nurseries will begin to receive weekly shipments of fresh stock this month so it will be
prime time for buying and planting.
Remember to sharpen your lawn mower blades before scalping your lawns.
