Hi Mike and Marcia
I am sending these notes and the 2013 work plan to you because I sit on the NC Aquatic Weed Control Council
(NCAWCC). The council was formed in the 80’s in response to Hydrilla infestations but now also addresses other
forms of invasive plants. NCAWCC has an annual budget of around $400,000 to combat aquatic weed infestations
in a cost-share program administered by Rob Emens in Division of Water Resources. There are 2 lakes in your
region (Tillery and Badin) that are discussed in the notes and I am not sure how many are mentioned on the 2013
work plan but I thought I would send it in case you get questions. Please contact me if you would like to know
more about the NCAWCC. Below is a link to Rob’s program in case you have questions about aquatic weed
management.
