An Act to Dejiine the Electoral Districts for the Election of Members
to serve in the Parliament o f South Australia.

HEREAS it is expedient to amend the laws relating to, and
to declare the Electoral Districts for the Election of Members to serve in the Parliament of South Australia-Be it therefbre
Enacted by the Govcrnor of the Provincc of South Australia, with
the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of
Assembly of the said Province, in this present Parliament assembled, as follows :
1. Notwithstanding anything cont~inedin Sectior? 14 of " The
Constitution Act," from and after the coming into operation of thi.:
Act, the said House of Assembly shall consist of forty-six members.
2. Sections 3 and 4 of the Electoral Act, 186 1 ," and the
Schedules referred to in such sections, are hereby repealed, but
nothing lawfully done under the authoritv thereo(shnl1 be i&dii
dated, nor shall any rights acquired, or liability incurred, thereunder
be affected by such repeal.
3. The said Province shall form one electoral district for the
election of members of the Legislative Council of the said Province; and suck district shall be divided into twenty-two electoral
divisions, and the several divisions specified in the h r s t Schedule
hereto shall form such electoral divisions.

4, The said Province shall be divided into twenty-two electoral
districts for the election of members of the House df Assembly of
the said Province. which districts shall have the names and boundaries specified in the said First Schedule.
Members for each
district.
5. Each electoral district for the election of members of the said
House of Assembly shall return the number of members mentioned
in the said first ~ i h e d u l erespectively.
Polling places.
6. For each electoral division and district there shall bc such
polling places as are mentioned in tbe second Schedule hereto, and
such other polling places as the Governor may, in accordance with an
address from the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, by
Proclamation in thc South Australian Government Gazette appoint :
Provided always, that the Governor may, upon the like addresses,
declare that any of the polling places meutioned in the Second
Schedule, or which may hereafter be appointed, as aforesaid, shall
cease to be polling places, and may, by Proclamation, direct at
which othcr polling places elcctors &titled to votc thcreat are to
record their votes, and thereupon the rolls shall be altered accordingly.

7. The provisions of this Act shall not apply to any election of
a member or members to serve in the said Parliament before a
dissolution by the Governor or by cffluxion of tiinc of' tlic House
of Assembly, existing at the time when this Act shall come into
operation; and any and every such election shall be holden in such
manner as if the said sections 3 and 4 of the " Electoral Act, 1861,"
and the Schedules referred to in such sections were not hereby
repealed, and for the purposes of any and every such last-mentioned
election, the said sections 3 and 4 and the said Schedules shall be
deemed to continue in full force and effect; and the electoral rolls
of the several electoral districts as existing at the time of this Act
conling into operation, shall, for the purposes of any such election,
be the clectorad roll of such respective districts to be used at such
election, anything in the 16th section of the "Electoral Act,
186 l," to the contrary notwithstanding.

8. This Act shall, subject to the provision of the lnst prcceding section, come into operation from and after a day to be
fixed by the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council
of the said Province, by Proclamation in the South Australidn

point where it tresses the main range between Hawker's Hill and Mount Despond
(Section 238) to the north-east corner of Section 159, Hundred of Nuriootpa;
