Upcoming Events
Student instruction time begins at 8:15 am. Student need to be in their seats
ready to learn at 8:15. It is quite disruptive to the entire class when there are
late arrivals. Any student that accumulates 5 unexcused tardies in a grading
period will have after school detention.

Behavior Free Dress Day
At the same time we are experiencing a very high number of students being
checked out early. While, it is understandable there will be times when a
student will need to leave early, please keep these limited to necessary
reasons only. It is not acceptable to check a student out early to avoid
waiting in the pick- up line. Again, it is disruptive to the learning environment
when multiple phone calls to classrooms are made during instruction time.
Students are receiving instruction up until 3:40 pm. Beginning Tuesday,
September 3rd, students will not be released from the front office after 3:15
pm.

Lucky Buck Friday
Our first free dress day for good behavior will be Thursday, September 5 th.
This is a way to reward those students that have demonstrated excellent
behavior in the classroom. Your will be notified by your teacher if your
student will receive a free dress day. Please refer to the student handbook for
free dress guidelines (appropriate length shorts, no spaghetti straps, closed
toe, closed heeled shoes still required, etc). Students not receiving a Behavior
Free Dress Day will need to wear Parker uniforms.

My name is Catherine Ulmer and I am the Music teacher at the Primary Campus.
I will be coaching the PSIA Music Memory team again this year. We will be
meeting every Thursday in the Music room (265) at the Primary Campus from
4:15 – 5:15. PSIA permission slips will be sent home in the next couple of weeks.
These need to be completed in order for your child to participate.
What is Music Memory, you ask? We will be studying music from the
Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic and Modern periods of history. We will also
study the composers. Students will, at the end of the course, be able to hear the
music and be able to write down the name of the composition and composer with
correct spelling, capitalization and punctuation. They will each be given a
listening CD and study guide to help them study at home. There is a district
competition in March in which the top three students in each grade level will
compete. In May, there is a State competition, in which the top student from
each district will compete for state bragging rights! Music Memory is a lot of hard
work, but it is also a lot of fun!
I have a list of several students who signed up at the Back to School Bash – I hope
this will generate more interest as well.
To keep updated on club information, please check out my webpage. To do this,
access the school’s website at www.acaedu.net. Once you have the Primary
Campus page up, click on the “Faculty and Staff” tab on the green bar in the
center and click on “Music – Catherine Ulmer.” Once you have that page opened,
look on the left and click the tab for “PSIA Music Memory” and that will take you
to the Music Memory page.
If you have any questions or need more information, please contact me at
[email protected].
