HEADMASTER’S PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 2016 There will be an opportunity, over the summer holiday, for pupils to practise their photographic skills and those lucky enough to be judged winners will see their efforts framed and mounted and on show with previous winners in the School. Read on! This year the theme, which has been suggested by our new Head of Art, will be: The Found Alphabet The challenge is to take pictures of everyday objects that resemble letters. The letters that are photographed will have been found in architecture or everyday objects around us. For example, the Eiffel Tower resembles the letter ‘A’. Black +White or Sepia tones only please. Visit www.foundalphabet.com/gallery for inspiration! Photographs will be judged in two age groups: Senior Competition – Years 6, 7 & 8 Junior Competition - Years 3, 4 & 5 The photograph you enter must have been taken by you. Photographs should be the standard 6 x 4 size (15cm x 10 cm) and can be either portrait or landscape format. Photographs can be sepia or black and white only. Your full name along with the title of the photograph must be clearly written on the back of the photograph. Only one entry per person. Entries to be submitted to Mr Crossley on or before Monday 19 September 2016. Due to so many late entries in the past and the process of judging, framing etc. being subsequently delayed, NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE PERMITTED. The winner in each age group will have their photograph enlarged, mounted and framed. First, Second and Third placed entries will also earn points towards the House Competition. There will be a special competition for parents/staff with the same theme, but a caption for the photo is required.
