INFOPACK TRAINING COURSE: " Give Me a Chance“ PLACE AND DATE: Paris, France 6-14 March 2017, travel days included PARTICIPANTS: 18 COUNTRIES: France, Italy, Spain, Romania, Turkey, Slovakia, Germany and Poland LANGUAGE: The official language of the project is English. ACTIVITIES Asociación de Costarricenses en Francia in collaboration with Mine Vaganti NGO staff, is glad to present the project “Give me a Chance”. There are many young talented people all over the world, who do not have an opportunity to show their abilities and talent. Such lack of opportunity often leads youngsters to lose their motivation , favours the development of a passive, rather than active and participative, attitude and of a feeling of self-loathing. The aforementioned factors represent one of the main triggers of a self-reinforcing cycle of social exclusion. In order to break this circle, a participative approach is called for whereby youngsters are given the chance to share their talent and their feelings among themselves being at the same time offered an opportunity to elaborate solutions as to how they might build their own skills in their life. The present project provides such approach through a set of Non Formal Education activities employing dance and music as the main educational media. METHODS The activities will be coordinated through non formal education methods (as group work and activities, presentations, workshops and personal assignments, meetings with trainers, experts etc.). Some activities will take place outdoor, to promote Erasmus+ and non formal education and raise awareness on environmental issues among the local community. The area is 105 square km, and around 2.15 million people live there. If suburbs are counted, the population of the Paris area rises to 12 million people. The Seine river runs through the oldest part of Paris, and divides it into two parts, known as the Left Bank and the Right Bank. It is surrounded by many forests. Paris is also the center of French economy, politics, traffic and culture. Paris has many art museums and historical buildings. The city has a multi-cultural style, because 20% of the people there are from outside France. There are many different restaurants with all kinds of food. Paris also has some types of pollution like air pollution and light pollution. HOW TO REACH PARIS? Participants have a wide range of options when it comes to transportation. By flight There are a total of three international airports in Paris, namely Charles de Gaulle International Airport (Roissy), Orly International Airport and Beauvais (Aéroport de Beauvais Tillé). An added air transport facility in Paris is the airline shuttle service run by Air France, which includes shuttle flights between the airports. When flying, be sure to reach the airports well ahead of the flight timings as they’re crowded most of the times. By Bus Paris enjoys good bus transport service both within the city and also to and from other cities in France. Eurolines is one of the major bus operators in Paris, and there is also Megabus, a budget travel bus operator, which connects Paris with Brussels, United Kingdom and Amsterdam. By Train Paris enjoys excellent connectivity to all other parts of France and the rest of Europe by a network of railways. No single junction exists for all trains. However, there are six different railway stations, which are not connected to each other but run trains to and from various other cities and European countries. Some of the important trains in Paris include the Train Express Régionale, Trains à Grande Vitesse, the high-speed Thalys, the Eurostar and Intercity trains.
