Meet the Greeks

Meet the Greeks
Sycamore Class – Spring Term 2015
Rationale: In this learning journey we will continue our exploration into ancient civilisations beginning with a
focus on ancient Greece. During this unit of work the children will study Greek life, the achievements of the
ancient Greeks and their influence on the western world. Children will take part in a ‘Greek Day’ and a drama
company will help them to understand and experience what it was like to live and work in this period of
history.
After half term the children will continue to look at Greece. However, more emphasis will be placed on
modern Greece and its place within Europe. They will have the opportunity to taste Greek food, will look at
the geographical features of Greece and will understand more about what life is like for a typical Greek
