SALT ALWOMS MONTHLY NEWSLETTER MARCH 2014 Praise the Lord. God’s gift to you – 5 Loaves of Bread Remember the story of the 5 loaves for the five thousand people and 7 loaves for the four thousand. When the Lord saw the crowd He felt compassion and love but what the disciples saw was the circumstances, surrounding, the crowd, the distance away from town and the cost to feed the people. The Lord saw His own, His sheep, His responsibility (Mark 6 and 8 chapters). Read Mark 6: 41 and understand how the Lord blessed the bread and kept on handing over the bread to the disciples and onto the crowd not just to eat but also be satisfied. Today God is handing over these five loaves to you. We as believers are like the ambassadors of P eace Christ and have a greater responsiveness to pass this on to many. The context of P rotection Com fort M ercy this month’s newsletter revolves around the ‘Five Loaf Pyramid’. The Pyramid depicts your journey with God. This relationship originates with Love and this is what connects every believer unto God. Your trust and faith is due to the love that you have on the name L ove ‘Jesus’. The Spirit that is in you feels it and is eagerly zealous to be in that love. That’s why in Numbers chapter 27 and 16 you read “God of the spirits of all flesh”. Because of His love you are more than conquerors and nothing can separate you from the love of God (Romans 8:37-39) The greatest message of love is found in John 3:16 “For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He gave up His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The promise did not just stop with the word ‘shall not perish’ but the Lord continues with a greater blessing to each believer of You are the salt of this world; do not lose your savour. (Mathews 5:13) Leviticus 2:13 salt [symbol of preservation]; 2 Kings 2:20 salt [the symbol of God’s purifying power] inheriting ‘eternal everlasting life’. Why? That’s because God’s love surpasses all understanding, which cannot be expressed in few words. His ultimatum of a relationship with mankind is an everlasting bond. How would you explain your relationship with God? Does it start with love, being obedient and making sure that you do not perish through right doing and end with that. Or is it a progressive relationship, eagerly waiting to demonstrate your love and obedience towards God and like David to be a man/ woman after God’s heart. Love of God is the first loaf of bread which you need to distribute to others and Lord Holy Spirit has wonderfully instructed this in Romans 12: 9-21. After you experienced the magnetic power of God’s love, a true believer humbles himself and then receives the second loaf of bread ‘Mercy’. Zephaniah 3:17 reads “The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest and in His love He will be silent and make no mention; He will exult over you with singing.” Among all the blessings in the world and among all the miracles in your life the most beautiful, the best and incomparable gift is ‘God’s Mercy’. That Mercy gives you the right for eternal life where once we were all dead are now alive in Christ due to the mercy of God (Ephesians 2:3-5). Mercy is explained as not getting what you deserve – punishment and Grace is that which you don’t deserve at all, an unmerited favour hence grace is called as a gift from God. God’s way of showing His mercy unto you is by not bringing into remembrance your past sins but being in silent and exulting over your humbleness with singing. He’s merciful and patient mainly to lead you into repentance (Romans 2:4). Because of this mercy you are exempted from the punishment, you do not have to suffer the penalty of eternal punishment in the lake of fire. So in your journey with Jesus Christ, you loved, you learned faith, trust and salvation. But if you haven’t repented, confessed everything you haven’t felt this mercy hence you are not exempted from eternal punishment. Confession and repentance unto God ensures Satan not having any rightful hold on you. As true believers pass on this loaf of bread in your service and let others not only receive mercy but also rejoice in it just as the Lord God of hosts will. The comfort of God is among the many spiritual blessings a believer receives when he understands the meaning of salvation. It is not only immediately imparted but forever available throughout life. In a comfortless world, the comfort of God is a welcome relief and soothing to the soul. It carries more than just words. It is like the loving pat by our Holy Spirit – encouraging us to not fear and that everything is going to be alright. When in the midst of trials and turmoil, it is important to remember that it will not last forever (2 Corinthians 4: 17-18). Finally as a true believer of Christ encourage one and another as the Scripture indicates in 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-18. The Word of God gives comfort, strengthens, inspires and gives hope. God’s comfort is not given so that people can just sit around waiting and whining but rather to get busy, live for God and move forward in faith (2 Thessalonians 2: 15-17). The steadfast believer experiences the protection of God because he believes His King is in his midst protecting and guarding him. The Lord is his refuge and high tower and the Lord will not forsake those who seek Him earnestly (Romans 9:9-10). When you understand each level of this Pyramid you will come into God’s rest. The peace that God gives to you is something beyond understanding and that will keep your mind and heart from all evil in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). This stems from patience and a constant zeal (Romans 12: 11-12). Keep your eyes fixed upwards to your home in heaven. Let’s fight the good fight and stand firm in faith – enjoy the fives loaves of bread and pass it on just as Jesus continuously fed the crowd. You are the salt of this world; do not lose your savour. (Mathews 5:13) Leviticus 2:13 salt [symbol of preservation]; 2 Kings 2:20 salt [the symbol of God’s purifying power] God’s will for you will never be defeated. The key is to align your will with His.
