Selection Report
This report is based on the GMA-2 test battery, an online assessment of 2 work-related cognitive abilities that in
combination provide an accurate estimate of the test taker’s potential or general mental ability. The information contained in this report provides
valid measurement of these abilities for a period of up to 12 months. This report is confidential and should be stored in a secure place. It is not
designed to be used as the sole source of information for making an employment decision.
What is their potential?
The General Mental Ability (GMA) score is used as an indicator of raw potential. Higher scores indicate
increasing capacity for learning and potential to handle more complex job demands. The GMA scores for the majority of Degree Qualified Business
professionals are expected to fall within the grey band. Jane’s GMA score is 119 based on a weighted combination of test results and speed of
answering questions.
GMA Score
GMA scores range from below 80 to above
135. The average is 100 based on testing

Note: If the test taker is rated much lower on Working Memory Power than on Mental Arithmetic, they
may find it difficult to quickly grasp new concepts.
Do they think they have more/less ability than they actually do?
Jane’s self appraisal ratings of ability and actual test scores have been compared to determine if any cognitive abilities have been over-rated or
under-rated. People who over-rate their ability are less likely to check their work for errors and to ask for advice. They may also be inclined to take
greater risks. People who under-rate their ability may not show the confidence in their ability to make timely decisions. People who are realistic
about their abilities generally know when they are right and realize when they may need to seek advice and input from others.
Self Appraisal Profile
Highly over-rated and highly under-rated
abilities reflect large discrepancies between
actual test scores and self appraisal ratings of
ability. They are flagged ( ) as issues of
concern for further consideration.

Test Performance Review This section provides a detailed review of the test taker’s performance on each test, including their
confidence ratings. A test taker who shows 100% confidence on a test is absolutely certain they gave correct answers to every test question. Lower
confidence ratings reflect less certainty in their answers. Their confidence ratings have been compared to their actual test scores to determine
where they have under-rated or over-rated their true ability, and where they have been accurate or realistic in their self appraisals.
Working Memory Power
People who score highly can temporarily hold
information in short term memory without being
distracted while they solve problems. In the
workplace they will learn quickly and grasp
complex concepts.
Mental Arithmetic
People who score highly are quick to add,
subtract, divide and multiply. In the workplace
they will be fast and accurate in dealing with
everyday numerical problems without the use of
a calculator.
