PROMOTIONS
This is to inform the University of Dar es Salaam community and the public that, the University Council at its 219th Special Meeting held on 4th December 2013 approved promotions of the following members of the academic staff to professorial ranks:­ Associate Professor to Professor
1. Prof. Aloyce W. Mayo: Department of Water Resource Engineering, College of Engineering and Technology
Since his last promotion to Associate Professor in July 1997, Professor Mayo has published 12 papers (9 of which are in international journals), authored 6 conference papers and 8 consultancy reports. Prof. Mayo has earned a total of 10.09 publication points.
Senior Lecturer to Associate Professor
1. Dr. Musa J. Assad: Department of Accounting, University of Dar es Salaam Business School Since his last promotion to Senior Lecturer in July 2002, Dr. Assad has published 7 papers (2 of which are in international journals), co­authored 1 book chapter, 2 conference papers and 1 consultancy reports. Dr. Assad has earned a total of 6.80 publication points.
2. Dr. Henry R.T. Muzale: Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics, College of Humanities Since his last promotion to Senior Lecturer in July 2005, Dr. Muzale has published 4 papers (2 of which are in international journals), 1 book, 2 book chapters, 1 conference papers and 1 consultancy reports. Dr. Muzale has earned a total of 6.7 publication points.
3. Dr. Ignas A. Rubaratuka: Department of Structural and Construction Engineering, College of Engineering and Engineering
Since his last promotion to Senior Lecturer in July 2002, Dr. Rubaratuka has published 8 papers (3 of which are in international journals), 2 conference papers and 5 consultancy reports. Dr. Rubaratuka has earned a total of 8.85 publication points.
4. Dr. Yusufu Q. Lawi: Department of History, College of Humanities
Since his last promotion to Senior Lecturer in July 2000, Dr. Lawi has published 6 papers (3 of which are in international journals), 3 book chapters and 2 conference papers. Dr. Lawi has earned a total of 6.15 publication points.

5. Dr. Leonard Y. Mwaikambo: Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, College of Engineering and Technology
Since his last promotion to Senior Lecturer in July 2006, Dr. Mwaikambo has published 5 papers (2 of which are in international journals), 1 book, 2 book chapters and 1 conference papers. Dr. Mwaikambo has earned a total of 6.23 publication points.
Earlier the Appointment Committee at its 18th Meeting held on 2nd December 2013 had approved promotion of the following members of the academic staff to the ranks indicated bellow:­
