Message from our Superintendent / PreK-12 Principal
Parents and Guardians,
I hope everyone has gotten settled into the routines of the new school year. We continue to be pleased with
our smooth start and the progress of our students. It has been wonderful to see the new staff and new students fit in so well within the walls of Weston. That can only be attributed to the strong community that Weston has.
Fall is a great time of the year. So, many wonderful events are planned and have already taken place.
Homecoming is being celebrated with time-honored traditions. Energy and enthusiasm builds during this
wonderful week of coronations, pep-fests, athletic contests and fun. On Friday afternoon of homecoming
week, HS students will have finished their floats, and head to Hillpoint for the parade. The route will
be crowded with cheering students dressed in blue and silver for the Silver Eagles and black and silver for
the Silver Wolves. Along the route we will see so many family and friends cheering on our school. We also
know that we will see the familiar faces of supportive community members who never miss this yearly
event. Friday night fans, friends and families will gather for the football game. We have special guests from
Cazenovia and Hillpoint’ VFWs. This will be a great addition to our football game.
A nice tradition at Weston has been the Harvest Fest. We are fortunate to have a wonderful staff who will provide a great event on Saturday October 1st. This year we will start with a run. Then continue with games, activities and food and of course fun! Thank you to all who have been planning this event and those who will
attend to make it a wonderful event.
Weston is a remarkable place that values educating the whole child. Providing a center of academics that is
encompassed with an environment that values safety and the thrill for learning. We are excited that we can
continue to TEAM with you to provide the best for each one of your children. Remember that teachers along
with myself are available to answer questions and address concerns at any time of year. We want to hear
from you and work with you to meet the needs of our students.
Sincerely,
Emily Miller
Superintendent/PreK-12 Principal

Students continue to build career awareness as they attended field trips
over the past few weeks. The seniors attended the UW-Richland Center
Career Fair held on September 19th. Students learned about various
careers and had the opportunity to meet with several college admission
personnel. The Weston guidance department hosted a financial aid night
on Wednesday, September 21st. Weston students and parents had the
opportunity to learn about the FAFSA and securing financial aid for
college. Parents of seniors can complete the FAFSA starting October
1st. The FAFSA is computed on 2015 taxes. The FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid) forms should be completed online at
www.FAFSA,ed.gov. Senior students should also begin looking for
scholarship opportunities. Seniors should be working on Technical
College and University applications. Applications have priority dates and
timely application is necessary to be accepted.
Junior class members should continue to search for job shadowing
opportunities. Talk over your job shadow ideas with myself or Mr.
Pulvermacher. Mr. Pulvermacher is our new School to Work
Coordinator. Junior and Seniors should meet with Technical College,
University, and Armed Forces representatives that are scheduled here on
campus during lunch period. Sophomore students have been working
diligently with Mr. Pulvermacher in Career Class. Careers is an important
class for learning and planning for the future. All students including
freshmen should continue to complete community service hours. These
hours are important to secure future scholarships and admittance into
college.
Parents of Seniors are encouraged to sign-up for a Senior meeting with
the counselor. Please contact me at 608-986-2151 x218 or by email.
